If this guy can't figure out how to make a game that can strain 6 year old hardware I think he has a lack of creativity. I recently bought a gaming PC and have realized the problem of devs making games for old consoles. I've had to install 6 gigs of texture mods to Skyrim to make it look like I think it should have. My PC is good enough to bring the load times to a bearable level (usually <10 seconds) even with all those mods. I could never go back to playing the game on 360 even if I could get mods on it.

As for being too focused on violence, I agree. It seems there is less than one decent story-based game for every 10 mindless CoD clones. But that's where all the money's at because that's what casual gamers want.

@darkwolfgang A game still functions without DLC. It's more like buying a new car at full price without a stereo, heater, AC, or windshield wipers. Then they charge extra for them. No one could ever get away with that. Why do so many people put up with it for DLC?
