I got it on launch day. Probably the greatest DLC I'ver ever bought.

soundcellx

got it launch day to but i havent played it yet.(big game backlog im working threw) i hope its good as you say it is

You should have experienced it when it first came out. It's freaking fantastic. Not sure how populated it will be now. The DLC has some pretty challenging stuff in it, and you'd have more of an advantage if you can find people to co-op with.

Yup, Manus on NG+++ was a real b*tch to solo

Halo 4 LOL. Thank god for COD and it's 60fps superior gameplay. Halo is for unskilled morons.

Warfighter has good AI? News to me. Personally I haven't been impressed by the AI in any shooter recently.

Vari3ty

FEAR and Killzone 2. COD4 had fairly good AI also. Killzone 2 is ahead of everything this gen in my opinion.

this has been the most rage inducing experience in gaming for me in a long time, maybe ever. i got this game again after selling it twice cuz there is literally nothing else out that interests me currently. i researched the crap out of it so i would stand a chance online and can get through PVE. i beat the game thanks to upgrading weapons and getting good miracles and stuff. the single player was good i enjoyed it (except the part where you have to start all over from the last bonfire everytime you die and do the same crap over and over again). i originally got it for the pvp multiplayer though cuz it seemed really intriguing, and its the only RPG i can think of with online pvp. so i made sure not to screw up my build so i could hold my own online.

i beat the game and started doing matches in the undead burg cuz i heard thats where most ppl have nice 1 on 1 without any bull like healing and gangbanging. i won a couple and got my humanity count to 40, now its like 25. it got to a point where i just kept dying. i swear it seems like im one of the only ppl with armor on. either i get combustioned to oblivion, R1 spammed with some crazy fast, unparryable, guardbreaking weapons, or backstabbed to death etc. I JUST DON'T GET IT.

ive looked at youtube fights, tried different techniques but i just can't do it. i don't know what im doing wrong anymore. if i get combustion spammed i roll away, but if i roll away they somehow warp behind and backstab me. if i face a mage they use some wierd dark spell with a bunch of homing faces coming at me slowly, and when i roll to dodge i get a crystal soul spear or more dark things spammed at me (except these ones are fast for whatever reason). if i face a heavy weapon dude i get stunlocked to death. ive tried parrying but i can't ever connect, even when it seems like the timing is perfect they hit me. if i face a katana wielding naked person they just flip around the whole time waiting for me to attack, and if i get close they warp behind me for the backstab.

i really just don't understand. i can't even backstab, how the hell do they do it. most of the time they aren't even behind me when they get it. and when i get behind them i just do a normal R1 attack. im not holding L1 or anything. i don't know why i keep going back to try again omg lol this game is driving me crazy. i guess my rant is over. someone plz tell me im not the only one who has tried desperately to get good at this game and failed.

idunnodude

Online PvP is generally cheap and that's just the way it is. It can be fun, but overall it's pretty unfair. Just try and have fun with the game and don't take it too seriously.

I'm surprised that no one has spoken up about the demo that was released, so I figured to start a thread about it here.

I played through it for the first time. Black_Knight was telling me earlier that it felt like a PSOne game to him, but when I played it, it looked decent enough to the point of where it was playable.

And that's the important part of the demo; the gameplay. I like to indulge myself in some hack-n-slash when I can and this is pretty cool, I have to admit. You can use your basic button combos to get the job done, but when you down the left trigger on the 360 controller (not sure what it is on the PS3), you'll go into what's called Blade Mode, where time slows down completely and you are able to freely slice and dice up your foes in anyway you see fit. So far, I've managed to get up to a 68-hit combo against the cyborg dog that you fight as the boss of the demo (wondering if there's an achievement/trophy for that?). What sucks, however, is the defense options you have. You can run around your opponents and apparently parry, but the demo doesn't explain it enough on how to parry or what kind of defensive manuevers you are given. Not even the freaking tutorial tells you at all; in fact, you are only given the game's basic instructions on the Blade Mode.

Also, after you are finished with each battle conflict, you'll be scored and ranked on how well you performed. The better you do at killing and surviving with a higher rate of energy, the better. Speaking of energy, in order to gain back energy, you'll need to finish off your opponents by pressing the B button when prompted. That happens once you hurt them enough to the point of where they can no longer fight back, so if you are low on energy, go for it!

There are elements of stealth, as you would expect from a Metal Gear game. In the demo, there's an ability called Augment mode (Konami's Detective Mode, if you will), where you can scan your surroundings and see who is or is not the bad guys and use the surroundings to your advantage. I tried to sneak by without being spotted, but that didn't happen, so I was forced to fight a couple of soldiers and two robots at one point. I wonder if there's an achievement/trophy for that too? Finally, I saw a Japanese symbol at the end of the boss fight, as Raiden was destroying the robot, but again, the demo doesn't tell you what to do and makes you try to figure it out as well.

Bottom line; it's a playable demo and it shows what the game will be like in the future, but I'm not entirely sure if it will grab Metal Gear fans or even hack-n-slash fans to the point of where a $60 purchase is justified.

For those who have played it, any thoughts?

Metamania

I wasn't buying it until I played the demo on PS3, it's incredibly polished and the gameplay is very tight. I love the premise of playing as a futuristic ninja and the game feels like it fits well in the MGS universe. It's fun as hell slicing your enemies in half and decapitating them, fighting the geckos is awesome, the game is plain fun in my opinion and I'm picking it up day one. **** the haters.

I just finished the demo earlier today and don't understand what and the crying and b!tching was all over. I haven't played the second one, but other than making my own guns and better graphics, this played a lot like the first one to me, which was a good thing. I intend to get it in about a year or more. Got way too many unplayed games to play as it is, plus I still need to buy and play the second one first.AmazonTreeBoa

People crying are pretty much a very small internet minority, this game will sell very well I believe and rightfully so.

I thought it was fine. It Didn't seem scary to me, but Dead Space was never scary to begin with. I prefer the more cinematic and action approach when it comes to Dead Space.

-Shooting is fun

-You can roll and crouch

JangoWuzHere

Those pros rubbed me the wrong way.

Fun shooting and more movement options are bad pros?

Lol, can't make everyone happy. I thought it was amazing, the devs did a great job of increasing the action and set pieces while retaining the trademark feel of the Dead Space universe and the previous games. This is such an awesome franchise and the guys at Visceral deserve a lot of respect for the work they do with this game.

You do live in her house, you gotta put up with whatever she has.. You are old enough to play the game but because you live in her house, you're screwed. :/

Life is life man.

Ya but that's a joke. His Mom is going a bit overboard here. I mean, He's 17 and should be able to make the distinction between fantasy and reality. I was playing these games when I was 10 and I have grown up without being negatively influenced by them, it's not that serious.

TW2 is an awesome rpg. Skyrim is not even an rpg.kuraimen

Dark Souls and Demon's Souls are better than both. Though Skyrim is better than Witcher 2.
