Huh, I always thought Dark Souls and Demons Souls looked just fine. Fantastic and compelling game world design, I love quality architecture in a fantasy game world.SulIy

This is some young noob, don't even reply anymore to this crap because he's obviously very very confused.

[QUOTE="LordTrexGuy"]

I loved Dragon's Dogma and found Skyrim to be decent (a prime example of developer laziness) but I'm not sure whether DkS PTD is worth buying or not. Judging by the gameplay videos I've seen so far, graphics look downright terrible (could someone justify this please?) and the game seems just unfair unlike some other games where difficulty means smarter AI or more realism like one-shot bullet kills. I also think the game is too dark and bleak and coupled with bad graphics, weird animations and unfair gameplay, it just seems like some random dude decided to make a game but I've heard only good things about this game so I'm considering it. Also, I don't know whether I like difficult games or not but I thought playing Lords of Shadow on Paladin difficulty wasn't tough enough.

If I don't buy Dks, I can go with Far Cry 3 but I could get also FC3 later and get DS now. I can also get KOA Reckoning instead but I'm not sure about it either because of the unjustifying demo. Can anyone give some advice as what to do now?

saying Dark Souls has terrible graphics while mentioning you love Dragon's Dogma, wow, just wow.

Also saying Dark Souls has bad animations whle mentioning Skyrim in the same sentence, please don't buy Dark Souls, you don't deserve to play it you tool.

do you like dying a lot like in demons souls?

or playing for a looooong time like Skyrim?

or did you fall in love with the tropical Far cry 3?

Love Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas. I really can't wait for Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch in two weeks, that will be an epic RPG.

That's just too bad, they're really great games if you can handle the steep learning curve.

I've played and beaten Dark Souls on my Xbox 360 and got 1000/1000 which is similar to getting the platinum trophy for the PS3 and I found it to be a really really great game, I also found the difficulty to be challenging at best and not even close to having myself rage so bad that I could have broken my controller ... I've actually beaten Dark Souls in new game plus without even dying no more than 10 times ... So with me being a huge fan of Dark Souls, I eventually bought Demon Souls and I was actaully kinda disappointed, first of I think the idea of having a central hub A.K.A. the Nexus kinda killed the game and most of the merchants being there kinda lessens the idea of you backtracking to some hard to reach areas and the player given the ability to carry plenty of health and magic potions makes the game alot easier compared to Dark Souls. Also most of the enemies and almost all the bosses, especially the final boss, in Demon Souls don't really pose that much of a threat compared to Dark Souls.

What do you guys think of the games, which do you think is better? harder?

JeanAlex22

It all depends if you used youtube and the internet in general to aid you on your journey. I played Demon's Souls when it first came out with no help at all and it was the best experience I had this generation. It was extremely hard and I did the same thing with Dark Souls. I found Darks Souls to be much much harder on the first playthrough, however, Demon's Souls on NG+ was much much harder than Dark Souls NG+. For instance, if you didn't glitch Flamelurker to defeat him, he's harder than pretty much any boss in Dark Souls. Dark Souls was harder in general because the player is dropped into this vast world with no information about where to go or what does what in terms of items and their use. Anyway, they're both amazing RPG's and I'm pretty much drooling for Dark Souls 2.

Tower of Latria in Demon's Souls was the creepiest dungeon I have ever played through....

No, it's inconsistent, Kratos & some of the bosses look amazing, everything else looks mediocre

also GOW3 has a fixed camera, that gives it an unfair advantage, they can control what you see & hence push much better graphics.

HaloinventedFPS

I'll give you that, and I reply with Uncharted 2, and 3. They're absolutely stunning and run incredibly smooth with a consistent framerate and no screen tearing. You can pan the camera and see anything you want anytime.
