@proceeder It's funny that you should say that, considering that the PS3 Escape from Mount Stupid episode was filled with comments from insulted WiiU fans (because it - along with the Vita & OnLive - were amongst the other 'retired consoles').
I can't say that the stealth elements look very well done, & the cardboard box seems to be there for nothing more than a comedy factor. Doesn't bother me though; I'll be slicing & dicing everything head-on. Probably going to die frequently as a result, but that can only be a good thing thanks to Platinum knowing how to keep a game fun while making it difficult.
@zero_shiftx2 Yeah I completely agree that having a female lead purely for the sake of having a female lead is ridiculous. I just want to see a decent answer to the question of 'why not?'
Oh & the whole 'BS' thing was more referring to the way stuff was put - like the 'Marxist teachers' comment. There are plenty of people out there who think similarly to what he was saying to do with PC & feminism.
@zero_shiftx2 GoW is not only fiction but also sci-fi, so it's about as far into fantasy as you can get while still being recognisable. The reality of the situation doesn't exactly matter.
I've never understood the whole 'negative sales implications' thing about having female leads in games. Look at goddamned Lara Croft & Femshep - so long as they're a strong character & there's little screaming (yes new Tomb Raider I'm looking at you) then they can be incredibly popular.
@Saketume I have to admit that digging into other people's misery actually seems to be a pretty effective form of escape for me. I'm more motivated to be immersed in depressive things than fun things when I'm down & so something like Actual Sunlight would be more likely to get played in the first place during those times than other games (games obviously being the #1 source of escape due to how quick & virtually effortless it is to become immersed in something that isn't you). Not quite sure why others' problems help for me though; maybe it's something to do with how self-indulgent [not sure if that's the right choice of words] depression is.
Doubt that the second game would work for me at all though, seeing as the character being played doesn't seem to be being constructed as anyone other than the player themselves.
'the game does not have to come after. Or before. Or off to the side. Or with characters you know.' So...the same game with different characters? Works with the whole 'not called Mass Effect 4' thing; they can call it Mass Effect 3 2.
On a serious note: I'm kinda holding out for something set before the original trilogy but I'll be interested in anything they dish out so long as there's a significant single player component.
