@bluefox755 @Greyskin1 @MetalGearX1 Well, actually no. I think that there's a big difference between aggression versus fictional characters and aggression towards someone you know is real. Violent video games and movies and even violent play do cause increased aggression...the thing is that the aggression is temporary (I think it lasts somewhere around 30 minutes). Also, I should say that I think there's a huge leap between "increased aggression" and shooting people because of video games. Your argument is the same as saying that a guy who cheats on all his girlfriends will completely stop cheating if he gets married (or vice versa)...it just doesn't seem plausible.

@bluefox755 @MetalGearX1 well, actually...the whole "it's a release" theory has been debunked. Aggressive behaviour in one situation breeds more aggressive behaviour in other situations too. Also, if we accept idiotic behaviour online, then we are reinforcing the idea that it's ok to act that way in real life...when it really, really isn't.

@bluefox755 Well, even though I do agree with you that it's not just the gaming community, we do have a stereotype to overcome. Why should we as a community just follow the norm of shitty and hateful blogging, when we can rise above it? Hell, i've personally never even understood the whole console wars thing. I'm a PS3 owner, and i would love to be able to play Titanfall, while at the same time I think that people not playing Last of Us and other PS3 exclusives are missing out. We have a lot more to gain from unity than we do from pointless bickering.

@aGiantSquirrel I seriously don't get your point of view. Just because somebody depends on somebody else, it doesn't mean that they're sexist. They both depend on each other throughout the game. Petit said in an article that you're reminded of Ellie's weakness every time you have to help her cross water...but she neglects ever single time that Ellie helps Joel get a ladder down so that he can climb up. Also, you are neglecting the many times that she saves Joel's life, and are also neglecting basic gameplay mechanics.

@Ionutzmovie Because it was a different time. Think of games that came out in 2000 that got a 10. Do you think that they would get the same score now? There's a lot more competition now and people expect a lot more out of games. That's it, really.
