"(...)no doubt that CDPR is the best rpg powerhouse now(...)"
Really? Witcher is a cool game and all, but Elder Scrolls is one hell of a series. I put Bethesda as the best rpg powerhouse thanks to both Elder Scrolls and Fallout series.
The biggest flaw of DA2's plot is that it came AFTER the plot in DA:O.
It's just like watching the Hobbit after Lord of Rings. The small scope isn't bad per se, but it's quite a let down to see something more humble after experiencing the epicness (btw, I loved the Hobbit)
It may sound tedious at first, but simply recovering after every combat lead to problems like the one mentioned by Laidlaw. You just jump irresponsibly at an encounter and if just one of your guys survives, everything is magically okay afterwards.
That's one way to transform an adventure into a simple series of combats.
Looks like they're bringing back some old school aspects of rpg. This game, based on this short text, looks more similar to DA:O than DA2.
And if they do it correctly. If I really can plan attacks and have to think about the whole adventure like the good old games (Baldur Gate comes to mind) they I'm buying this game.
