Wow I was wondering which game I was going to buy today - and thanks to your post I will be now buying 2!!!

I say you can't beat fracture for $20 or especially $15. i liked the demo - it may not have been as revolutionary as some people were hoping but it's still a good solid fun gaming experience IMO. Definitely worth $20 new.

The only ones I would suggest whole heartedly are the Nyko Intercooler TS series. Not the original intercooler or EX, because those use pass through power. The new TS series has independant power and controls it's own fan speed to reduce excessive noise and turbulance.

I wrote an extensive blog about the TS's on my homepage - comparing both the PS3 and 360 versions to previous external fan solutions. If you want to know more from someone who has used most of the fans on the market - then read that blog, though I'll warn you it's long.

In closing anyone who doesn't have first hand experience with the TS series really isn't qualified to give you an opinion on them.

Esclusive: Mass Effect

Non Exclusive: Oblivion and Fallout 3 are tied.

Just like with the PC...

Anything that is turned on that you don't use just eats up system resources (even if it's not much they still do).

If you are planning on hooking up a printer or camera or other hardware such as that to your PS3 then leave it turned on.

If you are only going to use your PS3 for games and movies like me then turn it off - it may not make a noticeable difference but will free up that little extra space in memory.

I suggest using the install to hard drvie option from the NXE on every game from now on then. This will prolong the inevitable of you needing a new system. By installing the games to the HD it won't scratch the disc and shouldn't have the DVD read error you have been experiencing.

If you're limited on HD space then just uninstall the game from the hard drive when you're done playing it.

You will need it serviced or a new console eventually - but this should get you by in the meantime.

I had a few lock ups due to overheating before I started using an external cooling solution. Once I started using cooling though I have had zero problems. When I used to have the 60gb model (which I miss) I never had any problems - but the new models are obviously made cheaper. i now have an 80gb and the first time it locked up I inspected it and to my horror found that it has NO fans in the rear of the console...

that's a horrible way for SONY to cut costs if you ask me.

Anyway the new Nyko TS series coolers are fantastic and I've had no problems since I started using one.
