Shoinko - I completely 100% agree with you. I like access to the exclusives on both systems - however one of my systems gets ALLOT more play than the other. That one being the one that clearly has the better graphics at this point. I do agree that I don't believe we will see too much improvement in this generation. I just am in hopes that developers continue to learn the Cell Architecture which I personally believe will truly shine in the next generation. Since the technology is so new it isn't going to be an overnight process to learn the new programming methods - so honestly I percieve this generation to be the "practice" round for Sony as far as the new architecture is concerned. This doesn't mean though that MS isn't working on something amazing and new as well. For example from everything I've read about DX11 which will be in the next version of Windows and most likely will be what the graphics for the next gen Xbox will be based on - for all intesive purposes will be the biggest graphical advancement in the history of gaming graphics. So depending on whether Sony somehow decides to implement DX support (which would take them paying MS some fees and therefore may be unlikely) the Cell Architecture may never see it's full potential be tapped. It's going to be a battle next gen too - however as some analysts have said Sony and MS may in fact throw a curve ball to the industry by uniting and creating a jointly developed console. That is rumor at this point but the rumor started from inside MS and Sony - so it's hard to say. I do believe though that the "war" for this gen has pretty much come to a close. Both systems have their advantages - however when it comes to graphics it appears the 360 is the clear winner. For those people saying that there is hardly any difference they need to have their eyes checked as the aliasing (jaggies) on the PS3 appear worse in every single instance. We will see - these 2 companies are huge and have a massive amount of resources so I have no doubt that they both a have a few tricks left up their sleeves even as this generation is approaching it's twilight hour now. There is even industry speculation that MS may release a new console side by side with the 360 (like the PS3 and PS2 strategy of Sony) when the new version of Windows launches which is Q4 of 2009. That would again put them about a year ahead of the competition which seems to have paid off incredibly well in this generation. Anyway - you are right that the 360's graphics are better on multiplatform games. There is no question at this point. I am not being a fanboy and anyone who honestly says that the PS3 has better graphics in this comparison at least - just isn't looking at the technical differences like anti-aliasing and texturing. I will say that in some instances the lighting on the PS3 looks superior - but generally the 360 wins in that category as well.

Shoinko - Your reasoning is a little flawed. I don't mean that as an insult - but the "most technically advanced" console is naturally going to be the one with the most cutting edge hardware which means it will be more difficult to develop for. I agree that the 360 looks better currently - however I believe the reason that the PS3 is struggling in this area is because IT IS the more technically advanced console and that's what is making it more difficult to program for. So the specific phrasology that you used I would say is innacurate. The 360 looks better because of the way code is written for it, which is easier because it is in fact less advanced. No one with any true technical knowledge will dispute that the Cell Architechture is the most advanced technology in consoles ever.

Wow - this is the most definitive graphics comparison I have seen so far. I own and love both platforms - however it is becoming increasingly clear that when it comes to graphics alone - one platform has a clear advantage in their technology over the other one. This could however not be a hardware restriction so much as the way that the game is developed. However it is interesting that the anti-aliasing is definitely superior on the 360 versus the PS3 - in every single instance that there was a difference (not Madden where they are equal) the 360 definitely looks better. The 360 also seems to have much more detail not only up close but also in the distance where in nearly every one of these images objects in the distance appear as "black outlines" on the PS3 with little or no detail while on the 360 the details are visible even when the object is far away. This doesn't mean that one of the consoles over all is superior to the other - and like I said I love them both - however when it comes to graphics it looks like there is in fact a clear winner - at least for now. Hopefully this is more of a programming/development issue as opposed to hardware, that we will see improvement on the PS3 with some dedicated developers in the near future.
