The point of 4k anything at this point is to sucker ignorant people out of their money. Current 4k screens are lacking key features that will be included in the standardized 4k format. You'll be upscaling everything anyways (Netflix, Blu-Rays, etc.), and upscaling is a bad thing. Upscaling requires processing which introduces input lag (which is bad for gaming), and introduces artifacts into what would otherwise be a flawless image.

It's an overhyped feature that solves a problem that doesn't exist because picture definition isn't lacking with standard TV sizes and their recommended viewing distances. Meaning: you have to sit much closer than what's recommended to your TV to begin to see the benefits (with sharp eyesight). The same applies to monitors but even significantly moreso. It's basically a balogna marketing trick so manufacturers and retailers can sell more TV's.

This is why every one who is serious about pc gaming should have a large HDTV at least 40" as a monitor and if your going 4K **** buying a tiny monitor you go all out at get a 65" HDTV at the very minimum at least you can go higher but I do think your reaching a point where you would want to be viewing from further out then most desk would allo I guess you always wall mount and push your desk away from the wall or have the TV placed ontop of another piece of furniture.

Also I know for a 100% fact that when I have the money to do I am going to build a gymnasium sized room in my house or larger with a 4K/8K/16K Projector displaying a massive image I want an image as big as the Chinese Theather in Los Angeles which if you have never been there is fucking enormous I do believe it is the World second largest theater after the giant imax screen in Manhattan NYC just image fapping to porn while high out of your fucking mind on multiple drugs on that shit!

I will still have a desk there hell probably even have a large 4K Display there to use to conserve the projectors bulb life span as well with a nice comfy chair and an ottomon under the desk to a fully reclinable king sized memory foam bed behind it shit is going to so fucking cash when I get it and I will be spending lots of money on an incredible sound system as well!

@MonsieurX: Because other pc components usually have larger life spans. CPU, motherboard or RAM can easily last for 4-6 years, only requiring a gpu change.

Today's PS4 cpu still can't beat a 2010s i7 2500k performance

I'm sure someone with more knowledge on the matter will correct me if I am wrong but don't think even the PS4.5 cpu can beat my overclocked i7 920 running at 3.6Ghz it used to be 4Ghz but I guess its nearing the end its life span I have pushed the little i7 920 so hard over the years and it has served me well for close to a decade so far(I bought that back in 2008) It truly is the little cpu that could!

I can also upgrade rather cheaply(around $100) to what is basically a 6 Core i7 920 with a little bit higher overclock potential and a bit better even if running as the same clock speed as the i7 920. As far as PC parts go if you buy a quality motherboard with a good 4 core cpu preferably intel that you can overclock and get enough ram you can get 12-16gb rather cheap nowadays. Its really only the gpu that's you will need to upgrade every couple of years.

But only if you want if you don't skimp to much on the gpu and are willing to maybe lower some settings or deal with some dips below 60fps but still higher then 30fps although a locked 30fps is perfectly playable even on pc with a mouse and keyboard but If given a choice I won't do that I prefer the smoothness and responsiveness higher fps offers. I can deal with minimum framerates in say the 40-45 region ideally it would be 60+ FPS at all time in the game but sometimes I will sacrifice some performance for graphical whether it be through higher settings or running a game at a higher resolution to have it downscaled to 1080P to reduce the Jaggies in game or both it depends on the particular game in question.

The GTX 1080Ti I will be upgrading to I won't have to do this for any game at 1080P even at 4K in the latest games that card is going to be the first 4K GPU that will possibly be able to run even the most demanding modern games without compromises in frame rate or graphics quality at 4K and if one turns out it isn't enough this why the pc gaming gods gave us the ability to use multiple cards to increase performance which is what I probably will do for my upgraded setup which will be a 4K setup with StarVR. Going to need alot of GPU power to do that without any compromises.

Hmmm.... I'd like them to get it running in 1080p at 60fps..... Regardless of graphics....

Though I'd really prefer they just release it on PC so I don't have to do the whole console-compromise thing.

This are my thoughts the matter as well.

Looks good, i would drop the SSD and buy better KB + Mouse.

Logitech G302 Deadalus Prime

And a Corsair K40.

The SSD is easily the most overrated part of any PC.

Do not listen to this person about the SSD its 2016 no one should not have an SSD in there laptop/desktop.

I need to get back to playing hopefully my save is still there in dolphin but what I did play I remember enjoying alot its one of if not my favorite 3D Legend of Zelda so much better then the disappointing Twilight Princess I didn't release that this was an unpopular opinion or maybe this thread just attracts more haters then fans of the game which has a 93 critic score on metacritic and 8.0 user score.Playing it reminded me of just how much I enjoyed playing Ocarina of time,Majora mask and Windwaker when I was younger I felt like a little kid again enjoying an expertly crafted 3D zelda game.

Hardly a surprise. PC Gaming surpassed entire Console market few years ago. And it's not just about revenue. The platform is a must have for any gamer who plays games a lot.

That's a strange comment, unless you mean people who want to play indie games or old games or F2P what makes it 'must have'? It's must have for anyone who wants the best gaming experience for multiplats but people who play games a lot have a dizzying array of choices for where they want to play games.

If you want the best competitive MP experiences I'd say its an absolute must have to have a gaming capable pc consoles don't really have anything like CS:GO in competitive or Dota 2/LOL closest is probably rainbow six siege but that also on pc and it can't top fucking competitive MP perfection that Dota 2/LOL offers in the Moba genre and CS:GO offers in the Fps genre imo of course but I don't this is an unpopular opinion there's a reason Counter Strike is still so fucking big and its core gameplay was from 1998 and Dota 2 stems from a Warcraft 3 mod obviously a loft has changed but it stays truthful to the core game mechanics that made Dota 1 so popular and its one of the most popular mp games out there and Lol dwarfs it which is amazing when you think about that shit has like unique monthly players in the range of total minecraft sales which are like 70+ million.
