Hardly a surprise. PC Gaming surpassed entire Console market few years ago. And it's not just about revenue. The platform is a must have for any gamer who plays games a lot.

That's a strange comment, unless you mean people who want to play indie games or old games or F2P what makes it 'must have'? It's must have for anyone who wants the best gaming experience for multiplats but people who play games a lot have a dizzying array of choices for where they want to play games.

We can be safe knowing that having the most exclusives, the best multiplats, and free online is stilll seen by the majority of gamers as a good thing.

It has biggest library of exclusives and best version of multiplats 99% of the time. Of course now as usual you'll be like "PC doesn'tzzz getzzz good gamezzz anymorezzzz" but that's just an opinion. At the end of the day, it's the biggest platform out there and offers more genres than Consoles. There is something for everybody here. PC gets more good exclusives in 3 months than Consoles get in 3 years these days. And no I am not counting 8 bit artsy fartsy crap.

Not surprising, every year PCs are getting more console like, and consoles are getting more PC like.

It's now become which exclusive box do you want, but more and more multiplats are becoming more important.

Because the third world's market is fuxxing huge,and console's big three failure to set foot in those country.

The biggest game software company was a chinese PC company for some years.

Tencent owns Riot(league of legends), Crossfire and Dungeon Fighter Online, those games generate ridiculous amount of revenue, all f2p games out of which the later 2 are only known in Asia

F2P is the only way a game can be successful in China, they don't buy anything you can pirate pretty much.

Remove those F2P games and console market is still bigger than the PC gaming market

Casual webgames are only 5% from the total revenue of games. Quite low for something you boast of.

I still don't get why people have to pick which games matter. The fact is PC gaming market is the biggest market. A healthy one at that unlike the uncertain future of Nintendo and MS.

Because console tools will use any nonsensical argument and nit pick anything to down play PC, the best games could have been FPSs and they would still have been like "that doesn't count!" because clearly only 3rd person shooters with stealth elements and big budget counts as a "game", they are just bitter that their petty consoles struggle to stay relevant every single year and every single generation while the PC doesn't give a damn lol.

Console market is dead in most of Asia and parts of Europe and why should you remove F2P games they are great especially for people who don't have money

Same old this, this and that doesn't count excuse from Console gamers. As if most of the revenue on Consoles is made by their exclusives or quality titles. Shit ton of money is made by low quality garbage like COD, FIFA and other trash that releases every year. Those are best selling games on Consoles.

Remove those and things will look even worse. But the thing is, both yearly rehashes and F2P are part of the revenue, whether someone likes it or not. And some of the F2P are really good too, like Team Fortress 2 or upcoming Unreal Tournament. There is nothing wrong with the model if used properly. You can't exclude games that you want. PC market is the biggest right now. That's a fact.

If you want the best competitive MP experiences I'd say its an absolute must have to have a gaming capable pc consoles don't really have anything like CS:GO in competitive or Dota 2/LOL closest is probably rainbow six siege but that also on pc and it can't top fucking competitive MP perfection that Dota 2/LOL offers in the Moba genre and CS:GO offers in the Fps genre imo of course but I don't this is an unpopular opinion there's a reason Counter Strike is still so fucking big and its core gameplay was from 1998 and Dota 2 stems from a Warcraft 3 mod obviously a loft has changed but it stays truthful to the core game mechanics that made Dota 1 so popular and its one of the most popular mp games out there and Lol dwarfs it which is amazing when you think about that shit has like unique monthly players in the range of total minecraft sales which are like 70+ million.

It's true, fewer and fewer people are buying out-of-box PCs.

Yeah, PC games encompasses everything. Facebook games, board games, and etc., but sales are sales. Also, PC parts manufactures are laying off and adjusting sales forecast.

Isn't it strange, that with billions of Steam players or whatever herms are saying, they are only up by 3billion from consoles?

PS4, Wii U, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360, maybe Wii too that is at least 5 platforms vs 1. All these platforms would be dwarfed alone.

it's not hatred PC is just doing better business on the gaming front. Most teenagers I know play new games on steam or PC exclusives like LoL hearthstone.

It's just where the market it as right now. Nobody hates console people there just less of them LoL probably more all of PSN combined and that's just 1 pc exlusive when you add in Steam and all other ones consoles a drop in the bucket. It's not hate just how the gaming landscape right now. PC is godly everything else is just peanuts.
