Personally I think Nintendo will release just one game themselfs at launch, Pikmin 3, and will instead try and promote the console itself and show off there 3rd party games like Darksiders 2, Batman: Arkham City and everything else they manage to get.

Anyway, that my thoughts, what about you guys?spike6958

I don't think Nintendo will rely on 3rd party dev and only release one game. Its Nintendo games that sell Nintendo consoles and they will have to keep their core audience happy with games that can't be played elsewhere. A game like Pikmin isn't a system seller and it wouldn't be wise for them to pick all their eggs in that basket. I think (and I'm actually surprised it hasn't been mentioned already) we will see a new Mario Kart at or around launch. Its time for a new one and Nintendo will use it to showcase their new online without friendcodes and all the fancy new features of the Wii U, MKWii has proven to be a system seller as well as an excellent bridge title and I think Nintendo would be smart to capitalize on that.

I also have a feeling that Animal Crossing will be a 1st party launch title, this is a game that will really take advantage of the table controller. With Animal Crossing 3DS releasing this summer (apparently) I think we will see a tie in between those two games.

I am also in the Skyview Temple; I'm almost done with it. I think I've put close to 6 hours into the game so far and I got it a few days after Christmas. Needless to say, I'm in the same boat as you. roboccs

I have no idea how many hours I've put in so far. The other night I left the house for a school meeting and came home to find I had forgot to turn it off and someone had just changed the AV settings on the TV instead of turning the game off. I was home an hour before anyone said anything. There's also been a few times that I've had to leave it for 20 minutes or so and come back to it so I can't go by how long the game says I've been playing.

I don't think thrusting the sword does anything to the plants, though. You can either shield bash them for an easy kill or swipe their mouths in half at the joints.JordanElek

Hmmm, interesting. I've been trying to jab them in the open mouth by thrusting the sword.

You picked up 2 very casual party games. Take it as a good thing that you can't get into them.

2 games you MUST have are "New Super Mario Bros Wii" and "Mario Kart Wii" Tried, tested and true both these games offer never-ending enjoyment wether your playing alone or up to 4 players. And don't screw up again by running out and buying "Mario Party 8" or "6flags Carnival Extravaganza Supreme 64&1/2 games in one"

knuckl3head

Yeah, that game really sucked. ;)

Definitely get NSMBWii and MK.

I've never been in to Pokemon but from the sounds of it, the series from the GBA to the DS had very minimal changes. I could be wrong, but isn't that series one of the most guilty of releasing new games that are pretty much the same year in and year out other than a few different Pokemon to find?? It sounds like the RPG equivelent to Madden.roboccs
I'd say they've milked the Pokemon series dry. I think, just from watching my son play, that there have been hardly any changes to the pokemon games. Someone can correct us if we're wrong...Jayson? I had time to start SS this week since the kids finally went back to school and I have to say, the first bit really dragged on for me. It might be because of all the cut scenes, I get that they are setting up the story but I only have limited time to play so when I finally turned it on...I wanted to play kwim? I've done a lot of wandering and flying around just to explore the overworld and I am really liking the game so far. I do have a problem with sword thrusting so the big plants have been a tiny bit of a problem but the rest of the controls are seamless. I'm in the Skyview Temple so probably not very far into the game.

I'm not trying to pick on Alex's grammar here (or Haziq's), but after a year or two of seeing the same weird phrasing show up every once in awhile, I wanted to get to the bottom of it because I had never noticed it before or heard anyone in person say it like that.JordanElek

I'm not going to say its a Canadian change but it certainly could be a regional change in dialect. I hear it all the time..."Are you done that?" as opposed to "Are you done with that?" I can't say I paid very much attention to it until you mentioned it (repeatedly.) Perhaps its one of those gammatical errors that we hear so often we tune them out. Much like when my mother-in-law uses the term "yous" "What time are yous coming?" It used to really bother me (you has no plural!!) but I've gotten over it...mostly.

I'd recommend dance game, particularly DDR. It can be difficult to get into, but if you dedicate yourself you can burn some serious calories. I used to do some thing like 600+ calories an hour with it. And not to mention, unlike with other exercise games DDR is an actual game that you can have fun with while playing.

I second this, there's no wrist flicking in DDR, you either hit your note or you don't. Its a great workout. Most of the wii dance games will give you a workout of some sort. Also, don't discount Wii Fit, the mini games are fun and you don't realize the muscles that are working until afterwards. Sports Resort is also a good one that will get you up and moving. I can't think of any RPGs that will give you any sort of workout.

Happy Holidays everyone!

It sucks going away for Christmas. I've hardly had time on the ps3 and when we're home my son is hogging it. I haven't started Zelda yet because the ps3 and the wii are hooked up to the same tv, I might have to change that today. Its a good thing I was given a Sony tablet which has been keeping me busy, I am currently addicted to Fruit Ninja.

Perhaps a burned out fireplace with a needle-less tree instead of the cozy graphic of years past? I look forward to seeing the new lounge name. :)
