It is interesting to see many switching from the 360 to the ps3. I purchased the ps3 just a couple months ago after the hype died down. I am pleased with it so far, but what I really miss are the games of ole that I grew up with. Mario Bros on the NES and such...needless to say i broke down and purchased a Wii yesterday and will be downloading those old games.

I will say i believe that the ps3 has more potential than the 360, the question remains whether the system will live up to this potential. I believe it will in time. Its a shame the 360 has had problems. I'm sure the latest ps3 price drop will encourage sales - with that I bet more developers will jump onboard with Sony.

I read some of you believe the Xbox version of Ninja Gaiden was harder than Sigma? I tend to disagree, I believe them to be nearly identical in nearly all aspects - difficulty and gameplay. Levels, weapons, bosses...many are the same, but with only a few additions. The difficulty is the real discussion. Yes...definitly a difficult game, but if you beat it at normal which many have, as I have...you find it even more challenging and down right frustrating in Hard mode.

Some of those missions are pretty hard too, but its a nice addition to the game...can get right into the thick of ninja action quickly.

I first played Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox some years ago. Ninja Gaiden Sigma is nearly identical in level design and difficulty. I beat the game a day ago after having picked it up on Tuesday this week. I think it took me around 10 hours. I remembered quickly how to beat the bosses and where to find items to advance through the story...

As i said this game is hard for the new comer. They have changed a few things - new weapons, a few new enemies, some new bosses - for the most part the bosses remain the same, with the same attacks and ways to beat them. A couple new weapons are around - Lunar (my favorite). You cannot change the difficulty level of the game until you have beaten it once. Then you unlock the Hard difficulty level as well as "Missions" which are essentially just being put into an arena with enemy after enemy thrown at you. You have no health potions, you have 1 ninpo attack and several weapons to choose from. Needless to say this is very difficult - take my word for it, much more difficult than any extended fight in the game.

I thought i might also include a few secrets for those who want to get a lot of essence early on in the game so as to buy all of the potions, braclets, weapons, upgrades to them and so on - anything from the store.

You know in Tairon where the main shop is where you purchase items (not the small ones you find here and there) - exit the shop and look to your right, a short distance ahead and to the left is a doorway with 3 flights of stairs leading to the next level (you will have been here before most likely) The 3 enemies you encounter in this stairway respawn - attack them, kill them, run back to the first flight of stairs - run down it half way and then back up...they will be right there again. Get the Lunar or the V. Flail and have some fun, try to use your ultimate techniques if a blue essence appears - you will rack up yellow essence like crazy.

There are a few other areas like this in the game that can get you a ton of essence in a short period of time - really helps to have tons of potions and rebirth scrolls if you run into a fight you have a lot of trouble with. One of which is under Tairon around the water spillways. There is a long hallway with 2 doors where fiends spawn - walk in, kill, go through a door and back in, kill...rinse and repeat. There is a shop nearby in a large room with a statue and water pooring out (forgetting the name of the area atm)

Very good game - its too much like the first one, but thats ok...because i very much enjoyed the first one.

I only notice little to no log whatsoever. Most environments are clean and movement is smooth. Why must everyone complain about the size of the memory storage (4.6gig) ...you have roughly 50gig to start with and this is one large game, it only seems reasonable.

I would think it will be some time before games need more and more space on the HDD than Oblivion. Oblivion is unique in size and scope, give it some breathing room.

No worries, be happy.

There is a lot of dust on my Ps3....its easy to see with that dark relfective surface. Needless to say it gets fair amount of use and a lot of TLC.

I purchased Oblivion some time ago for my PC and had a lot of trouble with its stability. Every few minutes the game would crash and I would need to restart - needless to say saving was paramount. Otherwise, I enjoyed the game ....which I only played for a few hours before frustration set in. I decided to take a chance and purchase the PS3 version and I must say I have been everso pleased with that purchase. With an HDTV and HDMI cable handi the game has really come to life.

I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The visuals are stunning, a clear night and the stars lit up, its amazing the things they are doing with games these days. Playing the Atari still seems like yesterday and look at what we have now, simply amazing.

The non linear play of this game has become something I look for in every game. Games that do not have this...well I typically don't care for them. Linear, controlled and stiffled environments don't seem fun. Oblivion provides direction for the quests (some of which I would be lost in without it) but provides a world where you may participate in anything it has to offer at any time.

Thank you Bethesda for making such a wonderful and involved experience. I believe this format is the new future of gaming, long gone are the days of pacman.

Anyone that enjoys an RPG will love Oblivion (especially on the Ps3 and with HD). Anyone that hasn't played an RPG may find it more involved than you may be interested in. It takes time....its not a game you pick up and can put down in 20min like Resistance or Virtua Fighter, etc. There are easily a hundred hours of gameplay available...possibly more if you consider all the different character variations you can make.

Too long had I played the Knight/Warrior when I decided to play the assassin. Lets just say I am now the Guildmaster of the Thieves Guild and Listener of the Dark Brotherhood...what fun I had. :) :)

I don't regret my *sigh* 2nd purchase of this game.

While I may not agree that Microsoft has paid off companys to promote their product as number one. I would believe that others such as GameSpot, IGN, GameInformer to name just a few - have formed their own  opinion as to which system is the best. Microsoft is a large and quite successful company, and no doubt the first Xbox was a good system out performing the PS2 in game quality, however, not quantity. With all this being said there are trends in game consoles just as their are in the scientifitc community (cough - global warming - cough) and Politics (cough - Iraq War - cough). Whether you choose to succumb to the trend is entirely up to you. More often than not the fad will fade and the truth of the matter through hindsight will emerge.

In this case you have three systems, the Wii, Xbox360 and PS3 - the PS3 being the underdog for now. There has been a lot of complaining about the cost of the Ps3 vs the cost of the 360. As recently as the article regarding the 360 elite was released did people begin to see what the new technology in the Ps3 really costs as well as its potential.

Why hasn't the success of the Euro launch of the Ps3 been given attention? Simple, it is fashionable to disapprove of the Ps3 at this time, just as those who do not believe Global Warming is occuring or that the war in Iraq is wrong - are shunned. In time the victor will emerge and I believe that to be the Ps3.

I have not always been a fan of Sony - but the more I see their willingness to lose money on systems to gain support and give more functionality to their systems (ie. blue-ray, hdmi, hd-dvd, free online, etc) the more I have come to appreciate their ambitions for future gaming, as I suspect many developers will also.

The Ps3 will have its day in glory - give it time. The more Microsoft attempts to keep pace making its consumers spend more and more for upgrades the Ps3 comes with straight out of the box - the more people will understand why they should have bought that Ps3 from the get-go.

I think this is rather a good question to ask. The answer is straight forward. The PS3 graphics do improve greatly when viewed in HD. I originally played the PS3 for ...a couple days, on a 27" standard definition television. I wasn't terribly impressed, but I knew my TV wasn't exactly a work of art. I then decided I needed to get with the times and get myself a LCD HDTV widescreen, when plugged in with the HDMI cable I was pleasently surprised with the wonderful graphics that emerged.

Now, the PS2 graphics look decent on a SDTV, the PS3 games do look better than PS2 on the same tv. I will say though that if you are still playing the PS3 on a SDTV you are missing out. I heard the same from others "you're missing out without a HDTV" and I blew it off as just talk. I now know they were right. Oblivion looks especially good in HD.

If you're in the market for a new tv, check out cnet.com for reviews - they are helpful.
