IF this is about these players' likenesses showing up in EA sports titles AFTER they left college I can see the merit in their lawsuit.
BUT if it includes ANY time while they were college athletes that should be dismissed. They signed contracts that gave over the rights to their sports likenesses to the NCAA when they went to play ball.
That said the NCAA needs to have an expiration date to the forms they force the players to sign before they allow them to play a sport for their college so that the players can regain the rights to their own likenesses.
Hopefully that will be the ultimate outcome from all this and we can get back those great college game franchises.
@Riddick123 This news came from a tweet by Shu Yoshida... He never said t would be available at launch. He responded by confirming yes Sony would allow external capture via HDMI AFTER we already knew they had HDCP and people were asking them to change that. They will do that according to Shu. IF it doesn't happen later then you can accuse Sony of breaking a promise.
@demonkingx5 Has nothing to do with Sony being your buddy. It has to with Sony's push to be more consumer friendly with the PS format and giving those who choose their consoles the things they want. We all know its an effort to make money as we all want to do. They use HDCP to protect copyright as most other consumer electronics devices do. Gaming is a different animal from movies etc. IMHO so it's a welcome change in Sony's policy.
@CRAPCOM1926 Admittedly (from someone who has taken two courses in Psychology and Sociology) there is a lot of BS in psychology there is much truth in the study of the human psyche. There is a reason major corporations, marketing firms, government agencies and even your local grocery store use psychology in their business practices... It works!
@SuperDutchy Never used more than four controllers on my PS3 where you could connect 7 controllers. I think Sony realized that there just isn't much demand for that many controllers while MS on the other hand didn't learn that lesson because the 360 only supported 4 controllers so more is better right?
I will eventually get one. It's just that my wife has this annoying thing about me spending money we don't have which definitely puts a damper on my gaming habits...
Guys... This is the BEST show on Gamespot, hands down. In fact it is better than 90% of any other game related videos on any given day on any other site. It's so good I actually wouldn't mind buying that coffee mug.
