The PSP 1000 was a piece of shit! Totally agree with you there. That huge hunk of junk with only 15 good games throughout it's whole life cycle. What a waste...
The PS Vita is technically great (much better than the damn psp), but it lacks original games that aren't ports.
danny, what the hell are you wearing?
i bought one on launch but hardly ever use it. haven't seen it for over 12 months. i ran out of storage space and couldn't be bothered to spend loads on a new card. plus the games are mostly dull. but it is a lovely piece of kit. i need to figure out where the hell i left it and think about giving it some more air time.
Sony fanboys will stick up for it on principle, glad to have an objective opinion for once. Great video Danny!
I think you should not buy a vita for Indie games you can play on any mobile device or console. Buy a vita for vita games, psp, and ps1 games. Hopefully it picks up steam over the next year
Great vid, however, my opinion about the PSP differs quite a lot. For me personally the PSP has been the best handheld I've ever Owned. Games like crisis core FFVII, FF tactics, the god of war games, Tactics Ogre et al made this system essential for me as a gamer.
Oh, on the Vita, yes, it's an amazing piece of hardware. Coupled with PS+, it'a great value.
"Reach around pad", man where was that when I was a kid! I wonder if that will hurt vita sales to female gamer demographic?
haha o man I could watch this video over and over and that intro psp sales pitch is funny ever time. You hit the nail on the head with that one danny
it funny how people think so okay console doesn't have many games that automatically makes the system crappy. the VITA is an incredible piece of hard ware and those comparing the VITA to SMART PHONE & I PAD in terms of gaming experience need to shut hell up. the problem with the VITA is the lack of games which i think is due to the price of the device which makes demands low hence no developer will not risky money on a platform that isn't selling much.
I Usually love his videos ,but not this one. The PSP did great and was great to most people and the Vita is doing ok as well. Seems he has a personal problem with Sony handhelds.
I wasn't to hot about the Vita when it launched either, but over the months I got some pretty good games from my PS3 PS Plus subscription and I thought... "What the heck?, I will get one and just play all the free games I already have and maybe more game will come along." Boy was I right. I now play more with my Vita than my PS3. I love the sleep function, you can stop for whatever reason you need to, you can even pause games that don't pause (Dragon's Crown for instance). I love how the newer games look like PS3 games. I love the dual sticks. Yeah memory card price is a bitch but damn this device screams gaming from the moment you turn it on. Seriously you can't go wrong with the PS Vita. Oh and remote play works like a charm, not like with the PSP.
The PSP is a great handheld system I play games on it still and will for years to come, Danny is entitled to his opinion but I don't agree with him about most of the points he made. As for the Vita I agreed with most of the points he made, except I never had any problem inserting the charger properly.
Spelunky - Cross Play
Zen pinball - Cross Play
Limbo - Cross Play
Hustle Kings - Cross Play
All good games that I only had to buy once. It's a nice feeling to log into psn store to see that you can download a games that you've purchased for ps3.
BAD : Creepy Front Facing Camera its a bit Strange at Night .... and aa I still think The name is Stupid " Epic !
The PSP was my favorite handheld of last gen. I still play games on it. And contrary to what Danny said, it has hundreds of awesome and exclusive games.
Day one purchase unfortunatley the games offering is just dire, majority are ports, very few (good) Vita made games and only supported by the indies....... honestly my Vita is a porche that runs like a mini! ffs!
MAN SAME OLD TITLES WITH NEW GRAPHICS REVOLUTION MADE ME SICK TO MY TUMMY ! SO I DECIDED TO CHANGE MY MOOD BY GOING BACK TO THE 1980;S AND PLAYING ALL THE CLASSIC VINTAGE WHICH I MISSED BELIEVE ME THAT REALLY WORKED ....
well i guess it's either that second stick and mediocore games, or no second stick and a bunch of awesome games without any easy way to control anything that's actually happening. fml
that designt must change. dpad and analogs small and useless. what is more games are not good. many games are downloadable and childish. if you check out psp games u will see what im talking about. monster hunter , wrc , resistance , gow , gta, and more..
@nonfanboygamer1 It's already got PSN plus steam is for pc.
@twztid13 ahahahahaha...NO! You should get one because now with the price drop it's not crazy expensive and the hardware in it makes the 3DS look like a kids toy. It does however need more AAA titles, but they'll come, Sony is very invested in the PS4 + Vita duo.
I totally agreed the PSP had many great title. loco roco ! seriously ? hasn't heard of
GOD OF WAR: CHAINS OF OLYMPUS
GOD OF WAR: GHOST OF SPARTAN
METAL GEAR SOLID: PEACE WALKER
GRAND THEFT AUTO LIBERTY CITY STORIES
FINAL FANTASY and so many more
than goes further by saying "vita" is a stupid name like 3DS & WII U are any better . in fact what the real purpose behind this video anyway ?
@ShiroDK are you?
@digitaltiger I did because I was borrowing the system from my brother and never even figured out why it wouldn't charge until just now, watching vids on my day off. I have a six hour commute, I don't have time to diagnose this crap. :(
@orbit79 Not Uncharted, and it´s a good game.
@Wensea10 I agree, but Killzone is pretty exciting. I've been enjoying it all week. More quality games would be great.
@Errorcutive and external storage options like mini sd cards are not superior to large internal flash space. Having to wait for a stupid sd card to read or right is cheap. If you can afford it get the largest amount of space on andy device. SD is crap. If anyone brings up sd in a device argument you tell them to go to hell
@Errorcutive depends on what you want or what you would use the device for. ios would probably be a better phone when you want better quality/larger selection of apps and games. And droids are for themes or niche categories or needs. Android could be a better tablet for sitting on the couche and browsing the web and playing a few emulators or simple games. People will bash ios but the only downsides to the actual OS would be customizability. Thats kinda determined if the person decides to jailbreak the device or not. Plus if your really into modding and crap outside of apps then most android users will end up rooting and flashing custom firmware.roms anyways. So if you compare a jailbroken ios and rooted droid..well I would have to say the jailbroken iphone would be the better phone and the droid the better tablet. ios is rock solid and deserves a spot as a phone whereas tablet for playing the odd game and doing other things not to mention a better aspect ratio would be set aside for a droid. Just don't get a windows device.
@supermarioooooo bad troll is bad, back to the bay bridge wit ye
@supermarioooooo lmao, you sound like a child
@supermarioooooo you hate childish games and you are using mario as your profile pic. o_O
@daviz88 Awww, somebody's a butthurt fanboy :[ Hey whatever helps you sleep at night
@daviz88 I actually played nearly more games on the PSP than on my PS3
