@EL_Bomberdor Are you suggesting that a 4 year old can't play with a gamepad? lol

Don't get me wrong, I play mouse+keyboard on my PC, and gamepad on my PS3/XBOX and I don't see a discernible difference in difficulty from one to the other. I think you're the elitist here.

Also, my nephew had a PS2 when he was about 4 and he could play games there without a problem.

@EL_Bomberdor The question is, why care? Is there any point to this discussion?

Regardless of difficulty, aren't games supposed to be fun? I'll never understand some gamers. It's like players that play at lower difficulties are a different class. lol (I'm speaking in general about system wars, not just to you).

But still, it's perfectly legit to have preferences.. He never even said it was the best method of play.

@MAD_AI What I meant to say is, if you're going to compare high-tech hardware from the future to the PS4 (because he talked about the future), why go so far? You'd have a better argument arguing that the current high-tech hardware gives the PS4 a run for its money (in terms of raw power), and you'd be right.

The discussion isn't really about specs, more about potential vs reality.

And I agree that he didn't word that as well as he could've.

@GamerGeek87 Your first paragraph is absolutely along the lines of how I see it, that's what I meant (or rather implied about him talking about the average PC).

And about the GDDR5, it's arguable. It's an old discussion that has valid points on both sides.

@MAD_AI You're talking about technology that isn't even out yet today (well except for the CPU). Do you seriously think that everyone in 2015 will be rocking a PC with those kinds of specs?

You're basically comparing spec to spec, but talking about future technology rather than current. Games aren't written today thinking about the Titan, in the same way that in 2015 they won't be written thinking about the next ninja technology that is out.
There's a big difference between potential and reality.

Also, you don't share memory between the CPU, GPU and OS, you share it between the CPU and the GPU. It doesn't make much sense to say that you share memory with something that lives in it.
In a dedicated environment (like that of a console), the performance hit of unified memory isn't as significant as you might think. Virtual Memory techniques (especially those running in hardware) are efficient enough to oversee that.

People, don't be ignorant.

You can't compare the specs of a PC apple to apple with those of a console. It doesn't make any sense. If you had a hypothetical general use PC with the same specs as the PS4, the PS4 would produce games with better graphics than the PC. Simply because PC games are written to be compatible with several architectures, which leads to more costly hardware-specific optimization, which then leads to less optimization. With consoles, developers know the hardware is constant, and as such can optimize the console's resources significantly more.

Plus, just FYI, the GDDR5 ram on the PS4 is unified, which means it's for both the system and the gpu. That is, in general, a good thing, and blows most OC'd system RAM out of the water.

All he's saying is that the PS4 will probably produce better looking GAMES (not tech demos) for some time than PC. Though, I think he's wrong, I think that 2014/15 is an exaggeration. How do I know that he's talking about games? Because he's in the gaming industry. Also, having a Titan right now is, in general, pointless unless you want to play at strangely high resolutions.

@SavageEvil @xeoneex66 I was going to reply to the imbecile, but no need to when your post represents exactly my point. Kudos, man.

Some people sicken me to an incomprehensible extent, calling others imbeciles with their self righteous BS when they are the true imbeciles.
