I personally wouldn't buy anything but a 1080p hdtv,i mean you only buy t.v.s every 6 or so years so u might as well save up and get a 1080p HDTV.

Also blu-ray and hd-dvd films are all 1080p,so if you like your movies i would defiantly go for 1080p

blacktorn

Actually there a few (very few) titles that were encoded in 1080i

HD Ready means that the TV does not have a built-in digital tuner. So you could not receive over-the-air (aka antenna HD stations). So you would have to have a digital tuner box to receive these. Most people are fine with those, but I live out in BFE so I made sure that I have a built-in tuner.

I would keep your components hooked to your television, and just run a pair of RCA cables from the audio out on your TV to your stereo receiver. That way you can run anything that you hook into your TV to your receiver (cable, other consoles, etc)

I might get it, but I have it on LD already. There is just something cool about using my LD player.

You guys will be very surprised with HD DVD and Toshiba this Q4.

This isn't coming to HD-DVD. :D

BTW, Toshiba does have some nice 3rd gen players coming, but too little too late.

HD-DVD is losing Weinstein as an exclusive studio by the end of this year.

I know that Spider-man will never be on HD DVD, but trust me they are not out of the game yet. If they fail this holiday season then they will fold, but I have a feeling that we will see a huge push from them this holiday season.

Why 2 disk ?

It on Blu Ray right ?

Isn't that like 4 DVD or something ?

Anyways hd dvd is overated just give my DVD

kevy619

Disc 1 is the movie

Disc 2 is for more special features

It's funny that you mention the DVD because even the DVD is going to include LPCM 5.1, something that the Xbox 360 can't take advantage of.

Xbox 360 = We can't even play DVDs properly. :D

I can get LPCM working fine with my 360. :P

The 360 cannot output 5.1 LPCM, it can only output LPCM 2.0, Dolby Digital 640kbps, DTS 1.5mbps, and WMApro.
