[QUOTE="BadAndy642"]Get over it Blu-fanboysTimstuff

Don't you mean "Get over it customers?" Because they are the ones who have truly been screwed over today.

If that's the case then Fox, Lionsgate, Sony, and Disney are screwing me, since I too am a HDM consumer. Just so happens that I am of HD DVD and you are Blu-ray.

Weinstein went neutral.

And Blu-Ray's customer base is 2x the size of HD-DVDs, and is rapidly approaching the 3x mark.

Timstuff

The number should be 5x+ but it's not and that is one of themany reasons that Paramount jumped ship. And never heard about Weinstein going neutral. Got a link to prove it?

PARAMOUNT WILL BE HURTING IN THE END.....WHY GO ONE WAY......WHY NOT BOTH. THE WHOLE THING IS STUPID IF YOU ASK ME.

So you are saying that all studios should release in both formats, including sony, fox, and disney?

"To$hiba"?
This just looks like HD DVD will have the higher quality titles.

I'm just wondering what Warner Bros. will do.

Timstuff

Blu-Ray still has twice as much exclusive major studio support than HD-DVD. All that yesterday's announcement has done is royally piss off a lot of people!

BD- Sony, Fox, Disney, Lionsgate

HD- Universal, Paramount, Weinstein

Neutral- Warner, New Line

Let's see, that covers the comedies and the non-Disney CGI films.

Who is MGM siding with? Reason I ask is because they would account for pretty much all of the Mel Brooks movies (Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, Young Frankenstein, Robin Hood: Men in Tights)...

More and more, it seems as if the movies I'd want to watch in high definition are going to be ending up on HD-DVD anyway.

Blazing Saddles is already out on both formats

I'm at work right now and I almost had a heart attack.......so much for people saying that it is a dead format.

I think instead of one dead format we may now have two. At least I feel better about my HD-DVD add-on now!

Me too. Now if only aCE would make a HD DVD player with DVD-A and SACD support for my other dead formats. (I'm alright in the laserdisc dept. my '89 Pioneer player still works like a charm :D )

What is your budget? You'll need a receiver, center channel, and a subwoofer to make a complete 5.1 setup. Also is your cable box digital, and if so does it have a digital coax or optical output?
