is this for your computer or for watching movies on a tv? what kind of speakers? if you plan on using them for your computer, they need to be designed for it (the right connectors, powered, volume control.) if it's for a home theater you'll need to get a surround receiver.

ok, i'm assuming the speakers are the home theater kind then. you will need to go buy a receiver and then hook your 360 and tv and cable box up to it. 360 and cable are inputs and the tv should be hooked up to "monitor." it doesn't mean monitor in the computer sense, it just means the screen you watch it on.

What is your budget? You'll need a receiver, center channel, and a subwoofer to make a complete 5.1 setup. Also is your cable box digital, and if so does it have a digital coax or optical output?
