Cardboard boxes aren't just for Snakes anymore.
It's great that it's sticking to what has made Metal Gear so good, which is sneaking. What they should do is allow at least crouching, but I guess it's already too late. Still, the game is looking good.
If Kevin Van Turd does the review for this game, expect no more than 6.5/10. P.O.S. Kevin so desperate to get a date he thinks he can impress women by showing that he only likes difficult games.
All of these people sounding so pessimistic about MGR and wondering whether it'll even get 8/10 have apparently never heard of Platinum or their pedigree of making supremely awesome action games. They're the best in the business right now, so doubting them is not an option.
These backstabs seems so fucking repetitive... The should've made some differents animations, dunno.
my god. the wait feels like an eternity, cant wait t get my hands on this tomorrow, i been waiting to play as a cyborg ninja since MGS1.
Though I'm sure this game will score good. It seems to lost alot of its "Tactical Espionage Action" genre to more of a Japanese Anime "God of War" feel. Which isnt bad, just not what I was expecting. On the fence about it right now. God willing, it'll turn up like a "Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City", LOL!
@irongladiator75 its mostly about action and hack and slash but if it manages to do it right this will get maybe a 8/10
@irongladiator75 IT'S NOT TACTICAL ESPIONAGE ACTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AHHHHH I can't stand the uncertainty of how this game will score? DAMINT GAMESPOT REVIEW THIS S#@! ALREADY!

If someone has not decided yet if he want to get this game, i postet a story trailer a few hours back here in the comments. Just scroll down and be prepared to be blown away :)
I know that the hate to this game comes from fear, we've seen great franchises being somewhat ruined by putting more action oriented gameplay to "appeal" to a wider crowd (Mass Effect, Dead Space and Resident Evil are the first 3 that come to my mind). What I hope is that this stays as an Spin-Off even if it proves to be a successful game in the market and that they could maybe release a sequel to this one but also keep releasing stealth oriented MGS games.
@Chronologo This title is exactly that. A spin off which is meant to expand the universe, not take over the main series. Hence the change in the title from Metal Gear Solid To Metal Gear Rising. There will still be future Metal Gear Solid games with the original stealth elements intact, but until then we finally get a game which allows us to tear shit up as the cyborg ninja. I've literally been waiting for this game since the first time I played Metal Gear Solid on PS One and encountered Grey Fox!
@NormaDean Yeah after I already made my comment I saw that there's still more MG games coming in the traditional stealth fashion. I also wanted to play as a cyborg ninja since MGS 1, those Grey Fox VR missions weren't enough to fullfill that dream. I'm sure there will be some kind of DLC or Grey Fox unlockable in this game... it has to!
@NormaDean dude iw as mgs since mgs 1 I played every mgs .yeah I kinda like grey fox character too.it was good idea or plan by Mr Kojima to make a spinoff about raiden :),maybe he might make sequal or prequel which will star Grey fox only future will tell :)
I just got my game today and im playin it its F****king awesome ,haters gonna hate, its even its better than DmC shit .Man cant believe that I spend 60 $ on good game ,totally worth to buy.
This video is funny, I think it's for people who keep talking about stealth and how MGR will ruin the MGS universe. How about that for MGS fans; this game is like a new flavor in the world of MG and you still gonna get MGS some time later.
@hellangel_boy Exactly, and they already have the trailer for Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeros and people are still complaining that MGR isn't stealth. People are fucking dumbed down to hell these days.
I can't say that the stealth elements look very well done, & the cardboard box seems to be there for nothing more than a comedy factor. Doesn't bother me though; I'll be slicing & dicing everything head-on. Probably going to die frequently as a result, but that can only be a good thing thanks to Platinum knowing how to keep a game fun while making it difficult.
Ha! Always love the randomness of a post-title clip of Metal Gear trailers. I realised while playing the demo that there could indeed be a semi-stealth nature to some sections (which is cool if it breaks up the balls-out action), but whether or not I was successfully sneaky seemed to be completely random. Some times I'd get spotted, other times I didn't.
@PlatinumPaladin You have to time your approach and sometimes walk up slowly... The enemies can see from a far distance if they're looking straight at you, which is pretty realistic. Sometimes it's better to run up and backstab when the opportunity presents itself.
1st metal gear series that looks boring and doesn't intrigue me after 12 years (doesn't have anything to do with stealth whatsoever. it's just look like an average action game)
@02050muh My god could you be any more retarded seriously? This is a SPINOFF you idiot. Jeez did you miss the entire mgs ground zeros trailer? Their still making a stealth mgs game, all you need to do is sit your ass down and wait for it. No one should even take your comment seriously, because it's obvious you didn't research anything when you posted that comment of yours.
