Metal Gear Rising: The Cyborgs
The first in a series of four videos showcases some of the enemies Raiden will encounter in the upcoming Metal Gear action game.
hell yeah!!!!!! and lmao i know what you mean dr_jashugan the volume is different in the beginning, scared the shit out of me I wasnt expecting tat
Is there a problem with the sound of the comercial that comes before this video? It starts with maximum volume which is totaly anoying. :-\
Guys maybe its too easy in the demo because the difficulties aren't there. I bet it's much harder on Extreme and European Extreme (Big Boss and The Boss)
To be honest this game attracted me until I played the demo. I see that many on the other hand enjoyed it . I didn't think it was all that bad, but it was very disappointing.
First: the zandatsu technique, which is at the very foundation of this game, isn't anything special, and you can't even cut the enemies in that many pieces because, not only they disappear from the world (so cutting enemies in small pieces, not only is useless and a waste of time, but isn't even visually satisfying), but they disappear even while you are cutting!
Second: the map is a little too big and there really isn't much you can do in it since you can only cut predetermined items that are randomly placed in the world like a toy to play with while running through the sections.
Third: the combat is glitched and you can basically beat everything by spamming "forward+light slash" which makes you invincible since you will constantly attack the enemy and parry ANY attack EVERYtime. (this makes combat monotonous and makes the strong attacks useless and for me is game breaking)
The rest of the game is ok, the animations are perfect and fluid and is graphically an average game. I hope the demo wasn't so bad :( , I probably won't be getting this.
I've yet to play the demo, but the videos I've seen so far look great.
P.S. I also find it funny how many people (especially "fans") don't get the difference between "Rising" and "Solid" right after Metal Gear.
This game was on the path of total sucking as soon as they got rid of the core mechanic of slashing everything as you wish, at will and at the desired angle. Complete failure.
From what I seen it's nothing like Metal Gear. It's sad to use the name this way to get sales, but I think the appropiate name would be "Ninja Slasher"
Game seems a bit too easy...
btw, those cyborgs are human basically right? so you are slicing off random LIVING people and police officers? and thats good how?..
I like how this game looks. The only thing is I want a non-cyborg costume for Raiden as an unlockable or something. He kind of creeps me out in his cyborg form.
Platinum Games gave us the BEST action-game ever made IMO Bayonetta and it looks like they have not watered down they're combat with this one. Getting this the 1st day of release.
PS. Talking to Platinum Games. PLEASE bring Bayonetta 2 to PS3 and Xbox.
This game is definitely going to be full of challenges. While I was playing the demo and fighting some cyborg dog with a chainsaw, I kept getting my ass kicked! Lol, it reminded of Ninja Gaiden. And not the recent weak ass Ninja Gaiden, but the original for Xbox and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 for Ps3! I cant wait to pick this up!
should be right up there with the best of em : Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden, God Of War, Bayonetta, etc...
No, actually the name does matter a lot more than you realize.
That's why they called it "Metal Gear Rising: Revengence."
The "Metal Gear" part of the title will make this game to be recognized by consumers, from among the many other games out there on the shelves, even if "Revengence" does not really play like the previous MGS titles in the series.
The name is important or it would have been called something else.
@Brazucassthe idea of someone with a japanese character as his/her avatar but able to say "The idea of holding a sword with a foot makes this game uninteresting to me" confuses me.
1- This game tries so hard to look cool. Raiden lands on the beach and water flows down his body in slow motion. “My name is Raiden and I look so cool right now, omg you wish that you could look as cool as me”.
2- Very weak combos. When I play Bayonetta/God of War I feel like a rageing beast. When I play the MGR demo I feel like a 5 year old child with a toy light saber.
3- Horrible camera angle. Many times I got hit by the robot mech, or a thrown grenade, because the mech/grenade was outside of the camera view.
4- Ugly graphics, Ugly boreing environments. Compared to the original Fox engine graphics, the graphics for this final version of the game looks very ugly.
5- Clone enemies. The enemies look like they were copied and pasted from some other army game.
6- Getting yourself staggered is stupid. Needing to mash the analog stick in order to recover is annoying.
7- Talking to your ear piece is stupid. Stopping the action and walking in slow motion just to hear a message is annoying.
8- The characters speaking over your ear piece are annoying. It was cool and interesting when done the correct way in the game Vanquish. But now, these characters in MGR are just annoying, NOT helpful.
9- Weak boss fight. The boss was so weak, a 3 hit combo that I easily blocked, and then he needed help from the regular enemies.
10- This game basically steals the blocking mechanic from Bayonetta.
Also it's super boring having too see the same exact "harvesting" animation, where you take the glowing intestines out of the enemy, over , n dover, n dover, n dover again after every single enemy you kill (sure, you can skip that if you want to loose health, power and score points), also considered it takes almost just as long as the time to kill an enemy.
@HipHopBeats Yeah, when I played the demo I was amazed at how good of a job platinum did. I thought they were just gunna scew it up
@IceQBkid Eh you can do that now
@InquisitorCrox What do u mean? They dont call it MGS. You know that right? Or you cant read?
@x2rufff4u so making a game using metal gear characters and calling it metal gear rising is a no no to you!? seriously? dude, the main character is raiden form MGs2 and 4, WTF were they suppose to call it!? Derp.
@x2rufff4u IT'S A FUCKING SPIN-OFF. HOW HARD IS IT TO GET THIS
I really do hope you're not serious, it is a Metal Gear game. its set in the same universe as the others. its called Metal Gear Rising and not Metal Gear Solid because it doesn't involve Solid Snake, its also a Lighting Bolt Action and not a Tactical Espionage Action because its not about stealth its front line work. and its very much like a Metal Gear game, you're able to do what Raiden and grey fox did in MGS4 and MGS1 respectively plus more thanks to the improvement of cyborg tech since the collapse of the patriots.
@x2rufff4u first time hearing about this game? Because if you have, you would have a clue why this game isn't like the old Metal Gear games.
@GunEye PLay the demo, I promise you the game is not easy. It's awesome.
@GunEye because gunning people down with miniguns attached to helicopters armed with missiles, setting people on fire with flamethrowers or simply plowing through a bunch of living people with cars is any different right?
@aventador33 there is a demo out you should give it a try . while the combat is similar the addition of the free cutting is a game changer.
@aventador33 What's up with God of War people? Why is everyone thinking that it has the same right to be named along DMC, NG and Bayo?
2. Right, because you get all the moves and combos at the start of the game...
3. I give you that, but NG1+2 have a bad camera to, so what?
4. It runs @60fps so stfu!!!1
5. Like in MGS4?
6. Then avoid getting yourself staggered if you don't like it.
7.Gears of War says hi.
8. You only played the demo.
9. If only there was an option to make the game harder, oh well...
10. You are joking right?
@ilantis You realize that any action game can become repetitive if you make it. You are the one controlling the character and its your job to add variety to the combat by trying different things. big maps are good for this style game since camera problems usually come up alot in this genre, the parry system does require timing so I dont know what you are talking about. I tried spamming it and nope, didn't work. my only complaint is there is no dedicated dodge or block button. i would rather dodge an enemy then parry him to death.
@ilantis Well you don't have to do the animation, as long as you cut their square they'll drop it
@ilantis I'm sure they have more animations in the full game. But I agree the game is not all that and I am having serious issues with aiming Blade Mode. I hate the aiming scheme. I think this game would be best suited on PC with amped graphics!
@raweewat @x2rufff4u Spin offs are not always a good idea. See what Ninja theory did with DMC? Yup, a giant pile of failure as far as the DMC series is concerned. Perhaps MGR will accomplish what DMC failed to achieve. A modern hack and slash game that is both enjoyable to play and totally appealing to any gamer's eye. I still wish kojima would have led the project but we will find out whether this was a good idea or not now wont we?
@BigBossWato Not to mention there is no blocking or dodging.
@H4num4n why not?
2- I played 100 different demo's and most of them give you a "good portion" of the moves list within their demos
3- in Ninja Gaiden you can very easily center the camera by taping the left trigger button
4- you really think that the "graphics engine" and the "physics engine" are the same as this 2010 version of the game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_4r-0aDMOM dude, I think that you seriously have a bad connection between your eyeballs and your brains
6- good advise, thank you
7- within the sort 15 minute demo, either Boris face, or a long cut-scene, appears on the screen about 8 different times, so trying to compare it to Gears of War is rather dumb
9- you are right, the game does have a total of 2 difficulties, normal and hard....I bet the enemies are not completely brain dead on hard mode, right?
10- you didn't know? There is actually a block tachnique within Bayonetta. I guess you are one of the newbs who only used the dodge technique throughout the entire game
@CaptainKrunch10 you should learn the difference between spin-off (MGR) reboot (DmC) and sequel( MGS5). And for the dmc, i havent played it yet but from what i ve read i think its good game except maybe the annoying character and that the majority of the people who hate it are the preoccupied "fans" with the hipster logic i played the real DMC before it was rebooted so the new sucks.
