Sid has brought back the railroad genre and...well...it's ok.
Railroad's isn't necessarily a bad game; it's just that it lacks anything to make you keep playing the game. Once you start it's downhill from there. In the game you play as a young entrepreneur eager to make his fort... Read Full Review

Great fun, but plagued by stability problems.
Railroads! has received some flack for being less serious that it's predecessors. But I think this misses the point. The game is great fun, involved enough to keep you interested and varied enough for years of repeated... Read Full Review

Long awaited return of Sid Meier to the Railroad series a let down.
As a long time player of the Railroad Tycoon series I've been anxiously awaiting this release. After seeing what Sid did with Pirates! I was expecting a game which built upon what had been achieved in the franchise since... Read Full Review

A good Rail Operations Sim
I have been a gamer for about 20 years now, and also an N-scale and 12 inch to the foot railroad nut for about as long. I never thought the two worlds would ever combine into anything meaningful. Along time ago I had hi... Read Full Review

This was my first railroad simulation pc game but I am pretty sure that I won't get to play a better one sometime soon. This game has got it all. You can focus on building your empire while watching the litter trains do ... Read Full Review

I never played any of the railroad tycoon games, or other games like them, but once you gain some experience at playing Railroads it is very fun. There are a few issues with crashing and memory leaks running on Vista, bu... Read Full Review

Lots of polish but lacks depth of the previous versions.
Having been one of Sid's game fans and playing every game he worked on in this line as well as his Pirate line. I must say I was happy to hear that they were looking at doing a new version of an old favorite. Having the ... Read Full Review

Broken in Windows Vista, too bad as it is a nice light game. Don't pay more than $15 and only then if you use XP.
I hate it when game companies don't support (i.e., patch) their games. This is just another example of such. There are only about 5 or 6 intensive maps provided with the game. After you have finished these you are... Read Full Review

Fantastic!
If you thought there was no where to go after playing Railway Tycoon III you are in for a surprise. Sid Meier's Railroads cuts through the methodical and the mundane, and creates a whole new focus. The game is quicker ... Read Full Review

Train Wreck- an anticipated game from Sid Meier, who normally produces lavish titles, does not live up to the reputation
Sid Meier is perhaps one of the best computer game designers since computer games first appeared. He has created some of my favorites including "Railroad Tycoon" and "Pirates." But his latest "Railroads!" puzzles me. ... Read Full Review
