So, it turns out that Sea of Thieves is currently the number #1 pre-ordered game on the PS store in the US.

Cows had one job and to not go anywhere near this game and send a message to MS that you don't want Xbox games on PS, but it turns out you do 🤦‍♂️

Sorry, but i don't believe any of it. And how the **** is this game sold for $53cad when its been out for a whole generation at this point? like wut?

This just shows how dumb exclusives are. Clearly there were PS gamers who wanted to play the game and were missing out because of corporate bullshit. Vice versa with Helldivers 2 right now. Thankfully MS is pushing for more multiplats and Sony is doubling down on PC. We are heading in the right direction. In the meantime, enjoy the best quality and features on the most neutral platform of all, with the most games.....

This is great. PS and PC (Steam/Epic) users pay while Xbox users get games on gamepass. PS users still gets exclusives not on other consoles on top of xbox games while Xbox users gets new gamepass contents, everyone wins.

But how many is that? Did 500,000 preorder, or 500? And why the f*ck would anyone preorder a six year old game? Or at all?

I guess they benefited from the disappointment of Skull & Bones. I mean, I vaguely heard that Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag got a large player boost recently, probably for the same reason. People want pirate games, they just don't want to play Skull & Bones.

Cool, didn't even know SoT was coming to PS. It's a fun game.

Sea of Thieves is a great game! Happy for PS users, and good for MS for "crossing the aisle" and offering the game on another platform.

There's a real shortage of good games on Playstation, and SoT is a pretty good example of a service-based game that isn't too predatory.

In fact I really like how the only thing you can unlock are cosmetics, and everyone is on more or less even footing from the very beginning to the very end. They don't reward people with no life outside of having more skill and practice, and they don't punish casuals outside of lacking the practice.

One less exclusive in the world: everyone wins!

Be happy for them, a good game is coming to their platform of choice and clearly they want to play.

Companies should be competing for people's benefit; people should not compete for a company's benefit.

People want to have fun, they seem tired of hype. Rise of Ronin? Meh. MLB 24? Another rehash.

But playing pirate with friends? Now that's a good time!

Cows are starving. Only thing they have to eat are remakes of third person cinematic walking story games. Let them have a good game for once.

Sony does have a lot of rereleases/remasters cooking:

• TLOU 2 remaster/rerelease
• Ghost of Tsushima rerelease
• Horizon Forbidden West rerelease
• Until Dawn remake
• Gravity Rush 2 remake/remaster

In the correct context this wouldn't be an issue, it's just:

Sony seems to have a serious lack of original games in between all these rereleases.

This feels like the start of the PS4/Xbone gen again, where publishers had very little faith in console gaming, were thinking about ditching it for mobile/tablet (I kid you not) and resorted to just remaster and rereleasing all their older releases.

It shows a genuine lack of interest for console gaming.

Most PS owners aren't console fanboys, they play live service titles like Fortnite and Call Of Duty and whatnot. Perhaps they chose PS because that's what their friends play on, they had the previous gen console that carries over their entitlements, friends, trophies, etc. They might not avoid Xbox out of hate like some people.

I mean, it's not like Sony had any banger exclusive coming out this Month right? Make sense for Sea of Thieves to get this much support.

A lot of new PlayStation players are former Xbox players too. It makes sense they'd want to play their older Xbox games again. Plus, gamers who don't care about console wars buy whatever games they want.

Xbox has always ported their games to other platforms...that's why they are one of PlayStations biggest publishers.....and Sony are copying them..
