Xbox One X vs. Your computer?

probably xbox, unless I upgrade my GPU, currently no games require me to yet.

My laptop from work has everything, except a decent GPU. It's a Lenovo P50: Intel® Core™ i7-6820HQ, 32GB ram, but only a nvidia Quadro M1000M gpu, which isn't much, but I'll be able to play games on it. So the CPU is better on my laptop, but for gaming the OneX probably still owns my laptop by far

Well, the standard office computer has a better CPU.

I have a 1060 and still rocking the ivy bridge i5. Im not sure. Maybe ron can come in here with some charts to help me out

@NFJSupreme: Probably a wash in terms of performance, maybe a slight edge to the X's GPU.

my linux box is a phenom 2 X4 955BE with 8GB of ram and an RX 460. it could absolutely take on the X1X.....if the X1X was in standby.

my laptop is an i7 4700MQ with 16GB of ram and a 780M (4GB of Vram). the CPU is a lot better and it has more ram but the GPU is holding it back. it wont beat the X1X.....unless its something like a total war game which is really CPU heavy. then maybe my laptop could win.

I think the XBone X is slightly more powerful than my pc. It's a pretty good deal for the hardware. I could upgrade my PC to be more powerful than the XBone X for less than $500, though.

My PC also actually has games which is a big advantage, so my PC wins.

Funny enough you can probably get that combo for ~$500 if you look for used parts.

I find 4K to be an application completely separated from my PC currently and for many, many years, and not because of compute but rather I have other target priorities on PC.

I have a 2600K at 4.6Ghz and two 290X's so 4K is absolutely feasible however performance on PC is a more important metric. I have a 1440p 144hz monitor so I get the best of fidelity and realistic high performance.

I'm not going back to 60hz on a PC, ever, and I don't want to deal with the performance pitfalls not only surrounding 4K but the displays themselves.

Xbox One X fills a perfect void for me, I can gain 4K gaming while at the same time not having to compromise my PC experience.

X1X wins my rig overall but then again im not interested at all for 4K so i dont care. For now i think a 1080p resolution with 100+fps on a 144hz monitor on max/close to max settings is far better than 4K res with low settings and fps.

I'm planning an upgrade this year that will beat it but right now I have:

It's been pretty good to me these last 5 years, but it ain't gonna do anything near what the X1X is going to do.

Even the PS4 PRO beats my computer. I only have a R9 285 and I plan to keep it until XBOXNEXT/PS5.

I'm gaming only in 1080p. So, the XB1X wins by default. Besides, my current FX-8350/GTX 1060 6GB still falls short. It's got a year, maybe two, before I assemble a new PC.

Xbox One X destroys my PC. My PC is ancient though, I haven't even turned it on in over 2 years. I just haven't been interested in getting a new or even using a PC for much of anything these days.

My PC always rapes any console. That is why it is my primary platform.

I7 7700K,1080ti,16gig's Ddr4 ram, 4Tb storage with 2 ssd's for windows and faster game loading. Hooked up to my 55" Samsung ks8000 for 4K gaming.

I'll still get a x1x, I love new gaming tech.

i got a 1080/i7-6700k so my PC wins but I upgraded pretty recently, my previous build would have been beat by the XB1X

the new xbox looks like a nice piece of hardware but with my PC hooked up to my TV at all times I have no reason to get it

Yeah the xbox one x wins... But with a bit of overclocking my CPU, getting 8 more gigs of RAM and a new GPU I think I'll be set for the next few years.

Actually the 970 only puts him slightly above a PS4 PRO which has performed around 470 level consistently. XBONEX should perform for sure above that up to around 1070 level.

I would say mine is more powerful, but it's close. FX-8350 4.2GHz, RX 480 8GB 1375MHz, 16GB DDR3-2400, 256GB SSD, 4TB HDD.

The TW3 patch should be a good indicator of general performance.

Kind of hard to say without having gaming performance/settings to compare it to.

XOneX obliterates my PC, unsurprisingly, since I don't consider it a gaming PC anyways.

GTX 980ti, 4790k, 32GB ram, ssd+sshd, I'll take my pc everytime thanks.

Both my laptop and desktop outperform the Xbox One X by huge margins.

None of them have a super weak CPU like the Xbox One X.

My PC is about as powerful as the Xbox One, so the PS4 is the most powerful hardware I own. Crazy really.

Similar situation for me, although it sounds like my PC is not as powerful, but my monitor is 1680x1050.

It's more powerful than the standard Xbox One, and plays any Xbox One games I want to play and they look stunning to me.

I'm happy to stick with the PS4 and PC until the PS5 comes out, and then after that, not sure which option I'll go with from the PC/Xbox side.

My last PC was my first pc running windows millenium edition. Had Doom, Quake, and top down Grand Theft Auto on that blue screen of death machine. So by default Xbox one x wins.
