Technically speaking, CPU writing to the ESRAM isn't quite the same thing as hUMA. If the CPU and GPU can write to the same memory address of an object, then you have it or something resembling it. The ESRAM is a separate store dedicated to the GPU entirely.

Esram is part of the GPU, so CPU and GPU have access to the main memory.

You are saying the 32-64Mb is too small? Do you think Microsoft didnt realize it was too small and doesnt know this? Dont be stupid. They know what they are doing. The console is still being finished in our homes. All will make sense when you play Quantum Break and Halo 5.

it does have hsa tho its not the same form as sonys due to the ram speed differences

ps4 gpu has access to the ram

xbox one gpu has access to the ram as well but the esram can not read off the ram as their only link is the gpu. more time consuming to draw things from both the esram and 8gigs of ram

Developers will choose to lower the rendering resolution in order to get things to fit into the ESRAM just like they did with 360.

Yeah more damage control by MS who claimed that on launch games would speak for them self,and boy if they did,720p on xbox one 1080p on PS4,even this last month MGS5 was 720p on xbox one and 1080p on PS4 and MS keep making you look like suckers.....

ESRAM is dedicated RAM, it’s 32 megabytes, it sits right next to the GPU, in fact it’s on the other side of the GPU from the buses that talk to the rest of the system, so the GPU is the only thing that can see this memory.

Holy sh** from your own link it is true only the GPU can see ESRAM..

So you just confirmed the xbox one isn't true HSA nor hUMA either.

So for example if I’m a racing game, and I know that the top third of my screen is usually sky and that sky doesn’t get touched very much, great, let’s leave that in regular memory,

but with the fast memory down here we’re gonna draw the cars. This works practically for any D3D resource there is, buffers, textures of any flavors… There’s no CPU access here, because the CPU can’t see it, and it’s gotta get through the GPU to get to it, and we didn’t enable that.

That explain why Forza doesn't have dynamic weather,because the sky data was been let setting on the DD3 main memory pool,which is to slow for anything drastic.

And the re confirmation of hUMA flying away out of the window like i once argue,the CPU can't see ESRAM so that means flush,and that mean not true HSA and no hUMA.

So MS lie on the xbox one presentation last year,that black bar is not really there no wonder it has no specification what so ever describing what it was..lol

All in an attend to prove the xbox one had HSA...

ESRAM is dedicated RAM, it’s 32 megabytes, it sits right next to the GPU, in fact it’s on the other side of the GPU from the buses that talk to the rest of the system, so the GPU is the only thing that can see this memory.

So MS lie on the xbox one presentation last year,that black bar is not really there no wonder it has no specification what so ever describing what it was..lol

720p vs 1080p is 100+% difference in pixels.

Tomb Raider running at up to 60 FPS while the xbox one version runs at 30 is up to 100% difference in frames.

The difference in Tomb Raider on PS4 vs xbox one is bigger than the difference between the stock 7950 and the 7850,quite big if you ask me..

Making devs do extra work that is simply not needed on other platforms is never a good idea.... and that epicness will still get hammered by PS4's 50% ALU advantage, 50% TMU advantage and 100% ROP advantage....

The ONEs hardware will used less resources and tax the hardware less. A lot more room will be left to do anything you want with the game. Draw distance, FPS, 4K resolution. The possibilities are endless from a tech standpoint.
