#5 Posted by Shewgenja (7927 posts) -

Technically speaking, CPU writing to the ESRAM isn't quite the same thing as hUMA. If the CPU and GPU can write to the same memory address of an object, then you have it or something resembling it. The ESRAM is a separate store dedicated to the GPU entirely.

#6 Posted by Tighaman (709 posts) -

You people are crazy of course its hUma because the ram is unified the esram can go through the ddr ram

#7 Posted by GravityX (677 posts) -

Esram is part of the GPU, so CPU and GPU have access to the main memory.

"Future proofed" you guys.

THE XBONE IS A MASSIVE PIECE OF SHIT

Beta tested in the future.

There is so much tech in THE ONE that you cant even wrap that little peanut rattling around in that empty head of yours.

I will help you learn this tech and you will see how the PS4 is already peaked in what it has to offer. I will show you my you Padawan.

it does have hsa tho its not the same form as sonys due to the ram speed differences

ps4 gpu has access to the ram

xbox one gpu has access to the ram as well but the esram can not read off the ram as their only link is the gpu. more time consuming to draw things from both the esram and 8gigs of ram

Microsoft are the stupid ones, 360 didn't have a enough EDRAM and what havoc that caused, it was the reason why most of 360's games ran at less then 720p. It was also the reason that Halo 3 ran at 600p....

Developers will choose to lower the rendering resolution in order to get things to fit into the ESRAM just like they did with 360.

Is that legit.? Because if it is boy you can kiss true HSA good bye...hahahaa So no wonder the claims of something similar to HSA but not quite it,that also means GPU flush because the CPU can't see the data on ESRAM.

Expecting Ronvalencia to damage control this with 20 links to irrelevant crap and old link,oh also a graph showing how ESRAM has a black line to the CPU..lol

@Tighaman said:

With hUMA the CPU and GPU share 1 memory address, which allow the GPU to access data on the CPU memory address and the other way around, how can it be hUMA when the CPU has not access to ESRAM? And can't see the Data that is there.? Also how is a single memory address when 2 different memory address are there.?

Why dont you put the rest of the info up so everyone can see how superior ESRam will be once implemented by devs???

http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/04/04/microsoft-explains-why-the-xbox-ones-esram-is-a-huge-win-and-helps-reaching-1080p60-fps/

Yeah more damage control by MS who claimed that on launch games would speak for them self, and boy if they did,720p on xbox one 1080p on PS4,even this last month MGS5 was 720p on xbox one and 1080p on PS4 and MS keep making you look like suckers.....

ESRAM is dedicated RAM, it’s 32 megabytes, it sits right next to the GPU, in fact it’s on the other side of the GPU from the buses that talk to the rest of the system, so the GPU is the only thing that can see this memory.

Holy sh** from your own link it is true only the GPU can see ESRAM..

So you just confirmed the xbox one isn't true HSA nor hUMA either.

So for example if I’m a racing game, and I know that the top third of my screen is usually sky and that sky doesn’t get touched very much, great, let’s leave that in regular memory,

but with the fast memory down here we’re gonna draw the cars. This works practically for any D3D resource there is, buffers, textures of any flavors… There’s no CPU access here, because the CPU can’t see it, and it’s gotta get through the GPU to get to it, and we didn’t enable that.

Hey @ronvalencia here are your tricks to get 1080p...lol

That explain why Forza doesn't have dynamic weather, because the sky data was been let setting on the DD3 main memory pool, which is to slow for anything drastic.

And the re confirmation of hUMA flying away out of the window like i once argue, the CPU can't see ESRAM so that means flush, and that mean not true HSA and no hUMA.

So MS lie on the xbox one presentation last year, that black bar is not really there no wonder it has no specification what so ever describing what it was..lol

All in an attend to prove the xbox one had HSA...

Actually the difference is many cases surpass 100%.

720p vs 1080p is 100+% difference in pixels.

Tomb Raider running at up to 60 FPS while the xbox one version runs at 30 is up to 100% difference in frames.

The difference in Tomb Raider on PS4 vs xbox one is bigger than the difference between the stock 7950 and the 7850,quite big if you ask me..

No it has 1 even weaker the 7790...

"Every one of the Xbox One dev kits actually has 14 CUs on the silicon. Two of those CUs are reserved for redundancy in manufacturing

Here straight from xbox one architect.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-radeon-hd-7790-review

Introducing the 7790 the only GCN with 14 CU...

Yes those GPU can run DX12,and so can the xbox one and PS4 is a damn API upgrade that is basically behind the curve, since Mantle and LibGNM for PS4 are already low level.

Developers will choose to lower the rendering resolution in order to get things to fit into the ESRAM just like they did with 360.

Totally different process. Like cloaked in chocolate and covered in chocolate. Devs will have to do more and think more to fully utilize it but the end result will be more gloriously epicness.

Making devs do extra work that is simply not needed on other platforms is never a good idea.... and that epicness will still get hammered by PS4's 50% ALU advantage, 50% TMU advantage and 100% ROP advantage....

*Rolls Eyes* Oh you are one of the brainwashed idiots still hanging on to the 50% more power "thing". That was stated by a indie dev (no doubt suckin sony tit) and has since then retracted the statement.

Dont look like a fool an believe every fanboy statement you hear just because it benefits you.

Oh I'm far from brainwashed.... one of the most educated and level headed people in here... And how does it benefit me?

Don't flatter yourself. You lost all cred with your "education"

After what you said in the other thread you're the one with no 'cred'... get a clue noob..

The ONEs hardware will used less resources and tax the hardware less. A lot more room will be left to do anything you want with the game. Draw distance, FPS, 4K resolution. The possibilities are endless from a tech standpoint.

Lololololololol'ing so hard at that, you genuinely believe Microsoft PR bullshit....

And then there's this...

The system is still under development. Microsoft stated 4K will be possible

Microsoft also said a lot things that turned out to be bullshit..... Xbone simply does not have the fillrate, bandwidth or shader power for 4k and any one but idiots knows that.

The ONE doesnt have that GPU in it.

Show me where MS has stated it. Besides that GPU cant run DX12 so it is now debunked.

Didnt read the rest.

Top lel. Show me one PC graphics card that uses a pathetic secondary bank of ram as a crutch for limited bandwidth?

This time around, your retort completely betrayed the ghettoness of the XBone's pathetic architecture.
