Tomb Raider sells 1 million in less than 48 hours

So, I heard the new Tomb Raider is structured like a Metroidvania... is this true?

for ps3 users its great they get yet another addition to the genre, but lems are always jelly of exclusives so they are trying to downplay uncharted now :lol: (with a multiplat which is more sad since its also on ps3 d'uh)

the sad thing is only one system gets to play both :cool:

Didn't see "ship" in Sony's statement either until people started pressing them for info. I just don't see how Eidos managed to track sell through numbers. If it came from a source like NPD, I would have no questions of the numbers.

Hmm, good point, i'm not saying it's impossible to track, but I think waiting for other more reliable source for more specific number would be better; at that time we may have a proper comparison. But even devs can mix up the 2 term i supposed. Nice number nonetheless.

Honestly, the shipped vs. sold debate is redundant anyway. Studios have already money from their shippments. Sales numbers are estimations anyway because it's impossible for studios to know the exact number of titles they sold unless they get in contact with every single retailer they shipped games to.

Sorry but PSN+ games are either really old or average at best. You don't really see any new AAA Console games. So yeah maybe in two years it might be on PSN+. :lol:

Even though I love the new Tomb Raider as a PS3 gamer it must be nice for the 360 to finally have a great action/adventure game while PS3 gamers have had 3 before this one. :cool:

And PS3 is still the better version of this game with even with all the M$ payola! Tomb Raider is a PS1 classic...

I'm really happy to hear this. The reboot was successful, and I hope they continue in this direction.

I'm glad people are playing this great game. I got the collector edition. I hope the next gen Tomb Raider in a couple years will be this amazing.

i don't know, just like metal gear, tomb raider is associated with playstation, wouldn't be surprised if the PS3 version did better, plus the fact that it's simular to uncharted just helps it.

Great! This is possible one of the best Tomb Raider games since the original. The developers deserver it.

I have special love for this game as the developers went out of their way to implement DX 11 effect and new tech lik tressFX instead of making it just another console port.

Good for the developers/publisher but what I don't like is that this means they will keep making Tomb Raider games but not give us a new LoK game which would, imo, be much more desirable than "another" Tomb Raider game.

Yet another one of StrongDeadB!tch's poorly disguised (and of course failed) attempts to take a jab at PS3. Putting that aside though, congrats to TR. Quality deserves to sell.
