Difference in vision, and the two are not competing an any way.
DriveClub is basically PGR, which had a different vision for a racing game than Forza as well. Forza is interested in how a car should react when experiencing X amount of g-force when halfway through an apex where DriveClub is focusing their attention elsewhere.
Why the hell does a racing game even need that? 99.9% of all races are under 1 hour long.
Prebake all of the lighting and spend the saved resources on higher polygon car models and better looking environments. Prebaking isn't a bad thing. It's extremely effective in making fantastic looking graphics. Only fanboys on the internet care if something is prebaked. It's all about the final picture, not the means.

If Driveclub was open world, day/night cycle would be sweet.
However it is fairly pointless in a traditional arcade racer. Maybe if there's some 20 minute races or something they could have an accelerated day/night so that half of the race is daytime, and half is night time. That's about the only thing that would make sense.
Actually I think GT5 already does that on a few tracks...Â
I can't wait to call people Driveatards. =PAllicrombieThat's against the ToU, Alli. I'll have you modded!

Do arcade racers have endurance races? (honest question, I don't know)

People give a shit about that? Honestly, to me personally, high quality shadows do almost nothing for games for me. Watching shadows interact with each other doesn't even qualify as eye candy. It seems like a dumb thing to waste resources on unless the hardware is so powerful and its so easy to do that it makes sense. In a room with a fixed light source, why would you add dynamic shadows to everything?

Stop comparing the two just because they're racers! One is an arcade racer and the other is a semi-simulator. Anyways, I dont expect fanboys to follow logic. They just see: "ooh cars. They must be competing with each other because they're exclusives!"
[QUOTE="charizard1605"]DriveClub is an arcade racer. Forza is simcade. We're talking two completely different kinds of games that honestly should not be compared.Masenkoe

Well yeah, it's not a true sim, but I'm using the framework of console games as a context for comparison here.Especially for an arcade racer like Driveclub. I could understand it if it were a simulator with 24h races. Why the hell does a racing game even need that? 99.9% of all races are under 1 hour long.

Cows really think Drive Club will hold a candle to Forza. Ridiculous. Almost as bad as the ignorant Cow starting this thread. A subject we have discussed 40 times already. Running out of things to nitpick about Swag?Â

Aww c'mon Alli, I thought you were above that! :P
That cows are glomming onto Driveclub just shows how crushing Gran Turismo's defeat really was.

bro driveclub looks like a ps3 game.

Driveclub graphically looks better than a ps3 game.
Incorrect. It looks better than a PS2 games, yet lacks the finesse of a PS3 game. The superiority:
