Someone didn't get the memo that this review was pivotal to propping up Sony.

Nobody cares about individual scores anywhere, this isn't 2008. Metascore will rise sky high, nothing will stop this game from glorifying the Playstation console even further.

Square's good relation and alliance with Sony predates the existence of Xbox. Never forget, 2008 FFXIII going multiplat and all, Square-Enix and Playstation are natural allies in many ways. They are supportive of each other despite minor, seldom bumps in their business relationship. This game is exclusive to Playstation because that's where Final Fantasy became what it is today, where the fanbase is and make no mistake, this is a deal designed to push the PS5 above and beyond the Xbox brand, and it will.

When Spongebob released, proved factually with video evidence a crow was smarter.

Users on Gamespot like to hate them but suddenly care when confirmation bias occurs.

Yet to play a good Final Fantasy game, all terrible.

It won't win.

The lower end scores bring out considerable criticisms, and many reviewers seem to view the big moment as a flop.

It seems like another case of hype overrating a game.

This is just another open world checklist game.

Very good reviews. I absolutely loved Final Fantasy VII Remake and enjoyed the demo for this game. Am very much looking to playing this. Only one week left, can’t wait.

Only notable thing of FF7 is the anime sword guy killing the hentai woman.

8 on GS? That surprising since they gave the last one. 10 and that felt a lot more like a 8 to me!

From what I have read/heard if you liked FF7 Remake you'll like this one.

There is still some crappy side missions and there is some disappointment at the ending. The problem is that ending is known and has been over-hyped to the end so it will certainly be less impactful.

So a good game but still has some flaws the same as Remake.

Still hyped to play it next week.

Only thing that is concerning from me is what I hear about the story. I KNEW I didn't trust current SE with stories. This is why I just wanted a freaking remake.

Oh wow, it flopped on GS. I was expecting a 10 here. I figured better than the original Remake in every way. Still day 1.

I really enjoyed the first FF7 Remake, more than I expected tbh, as I usually find final fantasy games to be too bogged down with cutscenes and linear gameplay but I will likely buy this once it goes on sale. So many games coming out in March that I am interested in it’s tough to decide which ones to prioritize lol.

93?!?!? HOLY SHIT! Playstation has the hottest live service game, and the hottest third party game locked up this quarter. Eating good this year so far.

I gave Helldivers 2 some praise, too.

I'm not sure why people are surprised. The best parts of FF7 were always post-Midgar.

Of course you would take Starfield over FF. You have to defend your biggest game in over 10 years, even when its also the most flawed AAA title to come out in the last decade. As a matter of fact, Starfield is such a flawed video game, that you honestly gotta wonder if people working at Bethesda know how to develop video games. What they've released in 2023 is simply unacceptable. And guess what? As i predicted, people woke up on the game, and it received the shit that it did. Now, the game is pretty much seen as this Loading Screen meme with empty planets, which is guaranteed to damage the hype for ES6.

And its funny you mentioned Helldivers2. Yesterday, i've played it for over 7h, and when landing on planets, i couldn't believe how a few planets that are currently playable in this $40 game, feel so much more unique and atmospheric than the 1000+ in Starfield. Its insane to me that this is the case. Helldivers2 might've been developed with a fraction of Starfield's budget, and look where it got them. That is the difference of a title developed by nerds that want nothing but a fun experience and a committee of suits that "developed" Starfield or Infinite for that matter.

How does this game get 93?

Cultural thinking, plain and simple. No wonder they can't see the flaws or dated elements.

Many games do what FFVII Rebirth does and they do them better.

The game has legitimate issues is almost every area. This is ignored because of the FFVII nostalgia thinking.

No wonder outside of a few times, film critics are more reliable than game critics.
