It does not have online, because it does not need it. Also, it has more replay value than Demons Souls for me, why, because of the consequences of your actions. The Witcher also has moddability further increasing the replay value.

The PvP in Demons Souls was laughably bad imo. Spells were unbalanced, in order to PvP you need to be in soul form first, which for me meant commiting sucide, you have no control over who you invade making it difficult to PvP with one of your friends for example, and the winner seemed to be more determined around who had the most grass (Demons Souls is the only game I know where you can recover from a mistake like nothing ever happened in like 2 seconds). And to make the whole PvP experience even more imbalanced, the invader only had around 50% of his HP due to being in soul form this really broke the PvP for me as invaders never posed a threat to, and this is not even getting into the lag.

Better game? probably

Online sucked in DS, the only reason you're poured so many hours into PvP is because there's no decent online RPG on PS3, so you just take what you can get.

While I do agree with you that the online in Demons Souls downright sucked (and pretty much every point you have made in this thread). I wouldnt make assumptions like that, maybe he just enjoyed the online in Demons Souls because HE felt it was satisfying and rewarding.

I don't think it really matters where the devolopers are from. A good game is a good game. I also think that, while all three of these games are RPGs, they will each play differently from each other. Its hard to really make a comparison.

imo, Skyrim will crush both of them with no contest... witcher 2 and dark souls both look great, but Elder Scrolls will dominate.

Comparing Witcher 2, an exclusivePC RPG to a console multiplat RPG, hmmm that's a tough one...

Give me Witcher 2 and let the Cows and Lemmings have that Dark Souls to play with. Dark Souls, Demon Souls, I guess the whole "soul" thing is not compatible with my ears.

I disagree, Witcher 2 will have to have more than one playthrough to see all areas due to game decisions, and it has 16 different endings.

A linear JRPG will never be able to match an open-world WRPG.

I hope it'll be as good as you say it'll be, but I doubt it'll overshadow Skyrim for me.
