I though Crytek was gonna melt our PCs with this game, those specs aren't that bad :P
Now cancel console versions and game will be good like Crysis and not like Crysis 2....SNIPER4321
this proves you know sh1t about game making.

Doubt it'll be anything like the original, looks more like crysis 2, do not want.
But maybe it's time for a new GPU anyway.
I dont want 2 suit powers, linearity and want prone, lean, F5 saves back. it happened when game would PC exclusive. they drop 4 suit powers in order console gamers can press Rb and Lb to switch powers.SNIPER4321
And canceling console version this late in the development cycle is gonna fix all these issues ?

It was pirated to hell and back though...hence, they needed sales; Enter consoles. You can thank your fellow PC gamers for it going multiplat...or all PC exclusives (what little are left) going multiplat if you wish.

Oh look, they have busted out the old broken record that is piracy. If Crysis 1 wasn't pirated to hell and back, there may have been a slight chance the 2nd one was PC exclusive. And you can thank your fellow console owners for crytek going free 2 play now, since crysis 2 didn't sell enough on consoles either.
Ok lets quit the BS. Crytek made a lot of money with Crysis because they managed to open 2 new studios and purchase 2 others from the profits of crysis. Even if crysis didn't have a single pirated copy we would still have seen crysis 2 on multiple systems.

Might as well wait for Xbox 720 to come out, otherwise your going to be disappointed that your practically new GPU will be out performed by consolesSo my 8800gts finally became obsolete. I was thinking of upgrading later next year anyways.

Maybe he doesnt play the latest games....or possibly plays at a lower res or settings

Maybe he doesnt play the latest games....So far it has played everything I have thrown at it. But with Crysis 3 it won't even run since it only is DX10.

lol, they were out of date years ago. Just cos they still ran games at all doesn't mean they're not out of date.

That's pretty broad. It's one thing to run a game, and its another to run it well. It's also a factor of which games you're throwing at it and at what settings.
My 8880gts was already struggling to run games well in 2009 (before I killed it on accident).

Such a same you're pretty broad also. Also you should know the difference between out of date and obsolete.
[QUOTE="Teufelhuhn"]Consider that Windows XP supports OpenGL, if they only do a DX11 version, a XBOX port is very likely, but Sony's platforms usually use OpenGL instead... If they did an OpenGL version, then there'd be no reason why XP couldn't do it with OpenGL. What Sony platform ever used OpenGL for primary game development? NONE. All of them use a custom Sony made API that is made to develop "on metal". No PS3 title ever, ever, ever used an OpenGL renderer. The only relevent information here is that they won't be supporting Windows XP for the PC version of their game, which is a good thing IMO. I don't know why OpenGL or next-gen consoles were brought up.

The buttHurt goes strong here, but understandable since you are going to play crysis3 with sub-HD, low settings and 25fps :(

I'll just get the superior enhanced GOTY edition for Xbox 720So it is confirmed that it will be an unoptomized game? From the videos and screens that I have seen it doesn't warrant a GTX 680 for the highest settings.
I need to upgrade my CPU. I got the FX 4100 thinking it wouldn't be much of a bottleneck, but i'm already getting low FPS in games I shouldn't be with a GTX 670 like Crysis 1 and 2 and GTA4 (20fps GTA4 medium settings), Guild Wars 2, Planetside 2 and a few others.

Why on earth would you pair a $100 CPU with a $400 GPU? Get yourself an intel man. AMD hasn't been good since the barton core days.So it is confirmed that it will be an unoptomized game? From the videos and screens that I have seen it doesn't warrant a GTX 680 for the highest settings.

Actually for someone in my situation it's a good advice. After the fan of my 5770 died I was thinking of buying a 7770 but then I thought that maybe new consoles could have something even better and then this card my bro gave me surprinsingly still plays games. So I'm gonna wait. I don't want to spend twice in a relatively small period when I can only spend once.

Makes sense, planetside 2 and guild wars 2 are both limited by the CPU

[QUOTE="FPSfan1985"][QUOTE="GioVela2010"]And I have a HD 5870 and 24GB RAM. I'll still wait for the inevitable and superior Xbox 720 version.GioVela2010Anything is possible. 360 was pretty damn beasty when it first released. I doubt it though. Well yah I mean the minimum specs for Far Cry 3 is a GPU that released 2 years after 360.
I'm pretty sure the PC will look best, as always.
