Lets see if a R9 390X with a nice OC can reach around 10 TFLOPS. Becasue I am planing to get 2 390X overclock them and get 20 TFLOPS.

Yeah, i'll be terrified of playing all those great exclusives in the next 5-7 years while not caring for fanboys measuring their e-peens and justifying spending more money on a graphics card alone than console.

Look, I've spent quite some money on gaming rigs in the past 20 years. 2 years ago I built a new PC which was pretty for its time. the only game I ever played that came close to maxing it out was Crysis 2, which was a really boring game. I know people here are ragging on Killzone for whatever silly graphics debate. Truth is I had much more fun with that title on the PS4 than with Crysis 2 on my PC at max settings.

The games I've played the most on my PC recently were Dota, Counter Strike GO, Starcraft 2, Starbound... none of them are graphically demanding in any way, so I wonder more and more why I needed an i7 and a GTX680 when it just came out?

no I guess it doesn't make the graphics "look" better, but it plays a hell of a lot better. You can have a great looking game running at 1fps using that logic.

I can find a r9 290x with a triple fan cooler for €430 or €20-30 cheaper with the standard cooler. I don't see a reason on why the r9 390x will be different, after all it is replacing the 290x.

Also if the trend remain the same the r9 390 should be only 15% slower and 25-30% cheaper than the r9 390x, making the r9 390 a better buy.

Like I said here in Australia it's not worth it. $699 for the R9 290x or you can have the lightning edition for $889. The 390x will easily be $1000 if not more when it launches here. GTX 780 all the way baby.

Anyway most muliti plats are not a vast difference if the devs are any good. It's kind of a silly argument. Besides....for the cost of upgrading a console gamer can buy a shit load of games to play. While the PC gamer....has a higher end PC. I really find these arguments ridiculous. Play games....have fun. It's not like a console looks like an Atari and chugs. They look and play within the same basic era.

My point is that it is better to play games with "2560x1440, 60fps, max settings" than "1920x1080, 30fps, medium-high settings".

Also in 2-3 years is going to be "2560x1440, 60fps, max settings" VS "1920x1080, 30fps, low settings"

No it's better to play games that are fun. Anyway by the end of console gens the devs make better looking games anyway because they've learned the hardware. And incremental increases really really aren't that important.

And being a PC gamer means you miss out on a lot of quality games. Your loss dude. *shrug*

Damn, 8,44 tflops from a single gpu! That's even more than my dual gpu HD 7990, it's fun to see how fast things are progressing. But I don't think console gamers should be "terrified", they know (except maybe for a few delusional ones) that they will never have a technical graphics king. And most of them buy consoles for the exclusives, I believe.

Have you once played new games at high resolutions with great graphics and high frame rates, it's hard to only game on consoles. Which is why I buy consoles for the exclusives and have a gaming pc for everything else.

Terrified? As a patron of Xbox, the console that will be receiving a plethora of exclusives and features, I am overjoyed. The console that is beta tested in the future will sit high atop its throne and look down and smile.

I am terrified that Sony wont be around to see the end of 2015. A poor E3 line up will solidify this.

Quality games to your mean a few console exclusive? Because others might have a different opinion, Me for example I consider them as garbage, and the best games are pc exlusives and the superior version of multiplats. See? my opinion is different than yours. But the FACT is that multiplats look and play better on pc.

By the time ps4 is barely a year old there will be gaming PCs that are 12 times more powerful... This console generation is turning out to be the biggest joke in history of gaming and likely the last one.

The RX280 is like $400 (the cost of a PS4). I can only imagine what the next line will cost... $600-$800?... and this is after most have spent upwards of $1000 for their rig? That's not worth bragging about in my book.

IF was the operative word you skipped over. I am clearly NOT a console only gamer as I still recall the Shareware Doom and 1992's Wolfenstein 3D early days of FPS gaming. I remember when MYST, Riven, Hexen, and more came out. You can read more about me here in this PC thread from earlier today.

There are big increments not small. As for the cost argument PC gaming is cheaper in the long run, because of the cheap games.

Real opportunity this generation for PC's games to wipe the floor with consoles. The difference in graphics will be a lot more this generation. The sheer difference in power now even at a greater cost is evidence of that. But what they need is someone getting the games for PC's. Both Sony and Microsoft are pushing developers for games on their consoles, whos doing it for PC. You get lucky that some games come out on PC and Xbox (like Titanfall) and there are some developers focussing on PC. But at conferences like E3 its all about the consoles. Hopefully the likes of steam machine in a few years will make PC gaming cost effective and easy to get into.

Lets not be stupid if you buying 10+ games a year and you can get those games on PC and that matters is performance. PC is the way to go, the savings you make buying the games can easily pay for the upgrades. I bought 10+ games already for Xbox One. In the summer (possibly later) I think I'll start building a PC cos its obviously the way to go.
