3DS - a generation behind Vita.

- No background downloads Incorrect, background downloads are in fact built INTO the system. It downloads stuff seamlessly in the background via SpotPass, it can download up to ten things at once. All you need to do is select 'Download Later' in the eShop, and it'll download for you in the background automatically..charizard1605

Haha, apparently lots of people don't. You can queue up to ten downloads this way, and they'll download for you in the background once you exit the eShop. It's super neat functionality, it's how I got my GBA Ambassador games. How is Rolling Western, by the way?charizard1605

It's pretty good. I've only completed the first town so I'm not very far but I can see the game getting pretty difficult. Basically each town has 3 days with each day beginning with about a 5 minute period of you just running around collecting different materials for towers (or to sell) and some food so you can increase the pig supply (basically the amount of lives you have). Obviously you can build towers and wall up the town to help the defenses. At dawn the grocks come in and you basically have to kill them all yourself because the towers, even if placed well, aren't going to take out more than 30-40% of them.

The controls are touch based and you use the stylus to do everything with the circle pad to move. They work pretty well once you get used to them, but I think an option for button controls might have been preferable. The actual fighting so far is pretty basic and I can see it getting fairly repetitive, but the game seems to be hinting at different abilities so I'll hold judgement on that for now. Overall I'd say it's at least worth the asking price. It doesn't really feel like a TD game honestly, it's a little more of a hack-n-slash type game but with some strategy involved.

And games is what matters the most and comparing the PSP and DS, the DS had way more better games and the DS was also a generation behind the PSP.

Pretty amazing that it only had one analog control. Graphics are ok, but definitely a gen behind Vita. Sony domination continuation. ispeaklies

Ah, you know it is a shame sites don't cater to the 3DS. Someone posted a site--with 3D game screens/art--that was formated to the 3DS and it made the device serviceable.

After playing Uncharted GA, its getting really hard to go back to that 3DS.

Sadly I was about 23 hours into Tales of the Abyss 3D, which is a really fun game, and I merely meant to dabble into Uncharted and play the 2 together. I can't go back to Tales just yet :/. The Vita just is such a better piece of hardware than the 3DS is imo. And Sony games have always been more appealing to myself over Nintendo games.

As long as the 3DS keeps a healthy stable of good JRPG's down the line, I'll still use it from time to time, but for now I have no problem officially giving it to my little brother lol.

You can do more than game on the 3ds and vita anyways, so it's a non-point.

There really is no such thing as a dedicated gaming device anymore, even the wii had netflix.
