how do you use the new rss channel for psp? I read before that some guy hooked his up to his pc, and now wherever he gets a connection he can listen o his music that he has on his pc. And he said it doesn't take up memory either. can someone tell me how to put rss feeds on it, and be able to use it. Because everytime i put something under the rss channel, it says that its empty. Somebody help me!!

Yeah, this thread is kind of useless now that PSPs come with the latest firmware update or at least 2.0 anyways, but people still keep asking and they don't even read the stickies.

Yes, you can play all games on 2.6.

The only update you need to have 2.0 or higher to play newer games.

You don't need 2.6....it's mostly security.
To format the memory stick, go to the System Settings menu.  The format command is in there.
No idea if iTunes song works.

Well, besides the emulators and homebrews, their are no drawbacks of updating to 2.6. I don't use the PSP Web Browser, so I can't say about the RSS feature, but I know you need the Web Browser to be able to use it.

Kind of a new question here, sorry if this was asked already.

Clearly if I buy a new PSP, the firmware is updated already to the latest - however. My friend has a PSP with the old firmware, and was afraid her warrany would be voided if she updated it. This would be a US PSP upgrading to the latest US PSP firmware. I know it's a dumb question, but if anyone that knows the official Sony answer could respond I would be very appreciative. I think that she just read something saying if you change or hack your firmware in anyway it voids, but this was before the upgrade was released, and I'm thinking of getting a used one so in the event I do would like to make sure that I can save any warranty it may still have.

Thanks!

The firmware updates are from Sony themselves, so it will not void your warranty what-so-ever. Just update and everything will be fine and the warranty will not be voided.

I've heard other people have the same problem. I don't really know a solution. You got the Firmware 2.6 (EBOOT.PBP) from Sony's website? You put it the the UPDATE folder (name must be in all caps)? Your PSP is charged enough; at least 30% I would say?

I did all of that. The same thing happened a couple months back, when I tried to update to 2.0. I eventually updated when I bought Madden 06 and GTA:LCS.

Yeah, it's very strange. If you have a wireless router or go to a hotspot, perhaps you can update from the Network Update under System Settings on your PSP.

I should have posted here first, but anyways.  Yeah im sure a lot of people are wanting to know how to do this.  I'm currently on firmware 2.00 and don't want to update to 2.60 for Street Fighter Alpha.  Ive tried using PSPSetX program with the eLoader (Fanjita) latest version, but I can only set my firmware - well for the PSP to think it is - to 2.50 as a maximum.  I know this is the way people can play games that require 2.50 firmware on version 2.00.  Any help would be appreciated :).

Then you can't play the game unless you use a homebrew program.

There isn't a way to download Adobe Reader to your PSP but you could convert your .PDF files to .JPG and put the .JPG in the PHOTO folder on your PSP removable drive. Just Google PDF to JPG.
How big of a memory stick do you think you need? You can get a 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo for around $50.

He means for new video formats to be added that the PSP can play, such as: AVI, WMV, MOV,e.t.c.
