Atheist. I've pondered the evidence, studied quite of bit of theology and know more than your typical layman about most of the major sciences. Atheism is the only route I can justify without having to rely on the nonevidential, unfalsifiable aspects of belief.

Apatheist. I just don't care if (a) god(s) exist(s). It makes absolutely no difference to my existence.

Agnostic. Don't see any evidence for the existence of god, but also can't prove he doesn't exist either. Also don't really care that much.

Agnostic atheist. The lack of any evidence makes me doubt to the extreme, but we cant technically prove it one way or another.

So you believe there is no god and no ET ? which means that Earth is the only planet in a universe of trillion of planets and among them more than one where our way of life could happen.

Does that make sense to you? because the chance of that is less likely than there being a god who created life on earth.

Anyways religion is a comfort blanket humans have created to protect themselves from the unknown and the truth of life..

Mathematically, it's wrong to assume there is *no* life elsewhere in the universe.

@foxhound_fox:

Who said anything about assuming there is *no* life.

Most of those variables are completely unknown. N could potentially be 1.

Again, there is NO evidence for life outside of earth. None.

Correct, that is why i asked what you did believe in.

As to God, well if you use the fact that nothing concrete has proven the existence of a god, then it´s 0%

And as to life in the universe. there is the drake equation and http://www.hawking.org.uk/life-in-the-universe.html

Nobody believes in fairy tales like religion anymore.

Oh wait...I live in America. Too many people stop believing in Santa, only to keep believing in whatever nonsense religion they follow.

Anyways...I hate to say I'm an atheist, because it shouldn't be necessary to describe what you DON'T believe in, but there it is.

@Jacanuk: ah felt rethorical. I am very convinced there is extraterrestrial life. And I don't need evidence for it.

Nothing concrete has proved the existence of extraterrestrial life, or dark matter, dark energy. So I guess there is 0% of that too?

Drakes equation is not evidence for anything.

tl;dr. But I'm sure there's no evidence in there. Hawkings is a bafoon btw.

Speaking of which. Where is the evidence for hawkings radiation? Nowhere

The evidence is based on math which itself is based on known non-variables. It is evidence, not proof. Math has been used to make many predictions which later are proven true through observation. In essence, the math tells us what to look for so we can then begin observational studies.

Math isn't the definitive answer, but it gives us a waypoint toward finding the answer. But it is, indeed, evidence. i.e. Math predicted the Higgs Boson, though through observation its mass was found to be different than the math predicted. Nonetheless, the math allowed us to know what to look for.

This is why atheists are becoming the most intolerant group....those who espouse these views.

Though I have met some tolerant atheists on the internet it's edgy to be anti.

I don’t believe in god or religion. So that makes my atheist. I didn’t choose to become an atheist.

I personally think all religions are man made nonsense and can’t believe people actually take any of it seriously.

I have made no such statements. The only insulting I do is when people propose ideas that are antithetical to their position or based on ignorance. You and I have been in the rounds before so you know I am not ignorant of The Bible and probably know more than most Christians, so when a Christian tells me something that I know isn't Biblically supported, yeah I'm going to hold that against them.

Except in this thread I have seen no religious person insult or deride his opinion. I have seen the opposite. Different platform.........same game. Do not be so biased as to not see what's been said.

I'm really not a fan of religion but I do my best to respect religious people and their views, especially when it doesn't involve me. Now if they are aggressively trying to push their religion and won't stop even when I say "not interested, thank you" then all bets are off. So yeah, there are religious people here, and they're nice people, so I don't see the need to try and ridicule their beliefs.

I manually edited him out of the quote chain because I was responding to a blanket statement you made, which is an aside from the back-and-forth the two of you were having. I am not defending him, I am simply contesting you.
