Ha! Back to Georgia weather as normal, it ain't cold a damned bit out there right now as I prepare to go open the store.

Two days ago, I was outside in the early afternoon, on my way to work. The roads and sidewalks weren't all that bad, but it was the nasty, bone-chilling wind that got to me! It was actually smart on my part to bundle up as well as I could though...still, that wind! Ugh...

They weren't that bad at all. You get at least 15%, from both the red card (5%) and the target member discount card (10%), so it was awesome. Well worth it, IMO.

@The_Last_Ride: Back to work for me. There was another winter storm last night, snow that melted and is now frozen over. I got late for work but oh well, lol.

Strange weather past few days. Had a foot of snow Friday morning. Right now it is 55 and pouring rain. You would never know we had any snow. Tomorrow morning gonna be below zero with the wind chill and a public ice rink to boot and I gotta drive in it.

I am finding Mario 3D World boring. The levels are too short, and too sparsely populated. I was really pulling for this game, but so far, just making it to the third world, it feels way too familiar to me as someone who also played Mario 3D land. One of the reasons I wanted to move on from the NSMB games was the samey feeling, and here I am right back with that overwhelming samey feeling.

Well I thoroughly enjoyed Saints Row 4, even if there were a few odd glitches every here and there.

Yep, supposed to be somewhere below 20 by dawn here in Albany, Atlanta will be about 7. This being Georgia, and people not understanding that it gets cold in Winter, everyone freaked out. The store got hit way harder than expected for this day, so I ended up spending about five hours at work on my day off. "Oh no, it's cold! Let's all flip out and act like stupid jackasses! HURR DURRR!!1"

We are currently at 21 right now. The news is predicting 14 for tomorrow. I was considering stopping to get some breakfast tomorrow once i left work, but i don't think that's gonna happen. The good part is that nobody is out causing trouble which makes things easier for us. Plus it is nice being able to work in a room that has a heater.

I think it got overlooked last year

We were at 9 when I left the house. It has now risen to a balmy 10. Wind chill still below zero. Still can't believe it was 57 and set a record yesterday.

So I was without internet for the last couple days to the winter storm. Well, mostly without it. I used my phone to access Skype and a couple Youtube videos, but that was it. Seriously, satellite internet's slogan could easily be, "It's either us or dial-up. Your choice."

In other news, I guess I'm just not feeling Super Mario 3D World. I made it through the first special world, and unlike SM3DL, I can't really be bothered to go any further. Maybe I'm just not in the mood for another Mario platformer after getting 100% in NSMBU only half a year ago.

Got 3 days to myself to play some Ni No Kuni. I am really liking that game so far. It is really cute.

Ok i'm 3 days late, but i sent it. Getting through Ni No Kuni. The story is kind of silly. There are some charming parts, but when i read the text and try to put the pieces together, i don't understand why the kids do some of the things they do.

@chicknfeet: I'm not entirely sold on Ni No Kuni. It's bloated and gluey and entirely too fond of the 'talk to this person, then this person and then a few others maybe you can get on with the game' trick. The battle system wasn't helped by the uselessness of your AI companions.

@Business_Fun: Thought i was the only one who felt that way. They have yet to prove their worth other than being fodder for boss battles

The actual combat was the worst part of playing Ni No Kuni, easily. Felt the same way about Persona 3.

Seems like a lot of people are getting the mod badge atm

I would rather like it if today was the last day I saw a user with a (animated, but still…) child pornography gif. He says he doesn't care if he gets banned, and that's fine. But why would anyone ever even posses such an image in the first place? Especially coming from a long time member with an otherwise positive reputation, it's just sort of disappointing all the way around. Christ, just change your password to something you would never remember and go away.

@Randolph: Yeah, I've never understood the point behind forum suicide. It just sounds like a cheap way to say "Hey, I don't like this place anymore and I'm leaving for good, but first I'm gonna make a fool out of myself for the laughs." Unless you were one of the popular folk, chances are no one is going to remember what you did a month from now, so why bother?

i usually just report one, because i honestly don't know what my karma is atm. And i reported only spam threads last times and still had 6 strikes for some reason

And now i am really curious as to why a long-term member like Randolph who everyone knows is here when its the worst wasn't made a mod. But its not something i need to know and gamespot is gamespot so not surprised.

Nine spam threads on the front page. Some of them up over seven hours. That can effectively push down and off the front page several good honest discussion threads, in a forum already suffering from a major loss of traffic, that's bordering on being a forum killing problem. I like you Bran, you are a good guy. I'm not blaming you. I'm expressing frustration because I do a lot of my posting in the early to mid morning out here on the United States EST timezone, and that's exactly when all the spam is all over the place. It ruins my ability to enjoy the forum.

Edit: make that ten spam threads, another one just popped up and I can't even flag it or I'll be karma banned again. I have no doubt we'll be at thirteen before anyone does anything.

I would like to say something that disturbed me yesterday. I was viewing the NeoGAF forums as a junior member and I came to a thread about a Christianity and homosexuality in America, and the really bad death threats and illl-will messages that were sent to a Christian couple running a business for not providing service to a lesbian couple. I made an observation stating that makes the gay community look bad, and I was literally told I was being intolerant and thus perma-banned without any further communication. I thought NeoGAF was better than this which is why I made an account there.

Any Final Fantasy Tactics afficionados in the lounge? It's selling for about £4 in the EU PSN store and so I'm tempted to give it another shot following an abortive attempt a couple of years ago. Anything special I should know? Any hints and tips for building the perfect army of murdering bastards?

There are ways to level up your characters quickly like beating all opponents except one and continually attacking them while also healing them.

Is it just grinding that's the key? What I'm worried about is getting to a point in the story where progression becomes immensely diffcult because I haven't been using and levelling up a particular combination of jobs (or something like that).

There is a point in the game where you will not be able to continue if Ramza is not strong enough. It is best to have Ramza as strong as possible throughout the entire game to the point in which most enemies are easy for you to beat with a couple to a max of a few attacks.

Not a whole lot, doing project stuff at college

Gonna go do some shopping for a new pair of shoes for work, then I guess go to Gamestop. I thought Tomb Raider: Definitive came out next week, but they sent me a text yesterday saying it was available today in the PM hours? Gonna go see what's up with that, then come home and hopefully get some cleaning done around here since I'm off today and tomorrow, which almost feels like a mini-vacation in comparison to what I've been doing at work lately.

I am watching Star Trek: The Next Generation for a while.

I was thinking of getting TR Definitive Edition for PS4, but when I got my new Xbox awhile back, it came with a free download of Tomb Raider, so I think I may have to pass for now.
