How Gaming Can Change Your Life

(Produced In Partnership With League of Legends) In this episode of GameSpot Chronicle, we spoke to some of League of Legends’ biggest players and fans to see just how much the game has affected their lives.

The League of Legends community is filled with people who have turned their passion for the game into real-life experiences. We've previously examined how one such personality, Aphromoo, was able to rise to one of the world's best players. But it's not just the competitors themselves who make these competitions special--it's the fans, too.

In the latest episode of GameSpot Chronicle, we're looking at League’s biggest and most passionate fans. Every year, thousands of people turn out from around the country to watch competitive League of Legends, as with the recent NA LCS. But why do they do it?

That's the question we posed to a number of NA LCS attendees, and you can see what motivates them to put their time and money toward attending these big events. As we learned, part of it is the energy and experience of being there live--it's just not the same to stream it from home. Others look forward to taking part in cosplay, with fans dressing up as their favorite characters in what can be some incredible, elaborate costumes.

In the video, we also hear from a variety of players and personalities involved with League esports, and what the passion of fans means to them. It's easy to forget that these are people like anyone else, and receiving a heartfelt letter or a shy request for a photo can be extremely touching (and surprising) to them.
