@diskotheque @AncientDozer I think the choice to drop the kinect isn't as easy for Microsoft as people think, the Kinect itself is more than we give it credit for as gamers and its actually pretty impressive with it's applications outside of gaming. But none of that matters unless it becomes something gamer's want.

I mean my kid loves the thing, and its always great fun to play too but its not something that has me excited. But I think the only way we can start seeing the evolution from a gimmick to a necessity is if it is included with every system to give developers a bit more incentive for developing for it.

I think that's the main reason why we haven't seen any major development for the first kinect because not every 360 had one, and anything developed for it would have had to been an exclusive, and not just exclusive for the 360 but for the Kinect and that just didn't seem like the time nor the effort.

@thatguyvan @AncientDozer I think what he meant by not innovating in any way was Sony ultimately just offered a more powerful system but didn't bother trying anything new. Not until recently are they starting to reveal new things, but most of them are service related. Where as the X1 is more multifunctional with seamless integration, they also did try to make things a bit more digitally based but ultimately that was looked down on and changed but they tried.

I agreed with the article not so much with this, I mean this seemed a bit biased and riddled with personal opinion as opposed from the objective stand point that the article took. I mean E3 for Xbox last year was not too bad, they basically focused on games and only reviewed their hardware near the end when they revealed pricing.

I definitely agree though that they need to consider more exclusive tittles to really be able to stand out a bit more, while the kinect is ok its far from being the system seller MS was hoping it would be and in some cases it has hindered the opinion of some people.

If it is on scale with Mass effect 3 then it will most likely be completely optional, and still bare the same fruits of what could be earned with in game currency. ME3 was in no way pay to win, gave you a boost but definitely didn't have a direct hand in victories.

Why is a company making money such a bad things? It seems like the main complaint Sony enthusiast have, is that Microsoft is doing this for profit and nothing more.... Seriously that is what a business does, if they are willing to listen to fans and naysayers it should be appreciated. For a company to overhaul a project as big as this so close to release deserves respect. I definitely look forward to this next gen and expect big things from both companies.

So keep in mind that everything these two companies are doing ultimately are for profit $ony, and M$ are not charities and if that is your biggest gripe with a company you must be very selective when it comes to brand loyalty.

When I see all the colorful post left by those purchasing a PS4 it does my heart good to know I won't be gaming with them...

@Verenti With the exception of self publishing PS4 honestly adjusted to position themselves the way the 360 did, by making it more developer friendly and cheaper at launch.... Seriously look at the PS3 launch, you can't say Sony has always been Saints and claim they are paving the way for gamers. Microsoft has had a rocky start but these policy reversals are good all around. When you are able to pull your head from Sony's ass crack I am sure you will realize this.

In all honesty looking at other articles it seems as though consoles may not be so big in Japan at all, there are tons if you just google search mentioning that XBox one and PS4 don't seem to popular over seas. So pushing for a release on the same day for the XBox one will ultimately make little to no difference and cost a lot more in cash and problems trying to rush the software to cater to the Japanese market.
