I would definitely overclock a cheap duo (already have one though) and overclock it to spend more money on a graphics card but I'm (and probably a lot of other people too) not going to do overclocking anytime soon especially if it means liquid cooling.
So I should have no prejudice when looking at video cards and compare specs for all of them... I feel like sticking to ATi since it's canadian (even if AMD bought it)
The patch ended up finishing, the link you sent didn't load anything. When I click on download, a tiny window appears and says: this page is currently unavailable (or something like that...) Although the game now runs thanks to the astoundingly slow download manager (maybe it was just slow Internet at the time or the peer-to-peer service that wasn't quite working), I will need to get it again when I install Windows Vista on the computer, and I don't plan to wait that long again (I'm not immortal yet! ). Can someone give me an explanation so I don't think I've been cursed by that witch @ Wal-Mart :P (or maybe it was just a plastic toy for Halloween, who knows)
Until now, I've concludedthat ATi was cheaper but Nvidia overall, better. Is this true? I know for a fact that a Nvidia 512Mb will probably be more expensive than an ATi 512Mb, but are they equivalent? Will one deliver more power than the other? I don't want system specs but maybe some experience with different video cards.
What processes anti-aliasing, the video card or the processor, or, rephrase that, what which part would I need to upgrade to get my AA up, thevideo card or the processor? For now, I can only play Crysis if theres no AA. Sometimes 2x if there are few enemies and little action. Currently have IntelCore 2 Duo @ 2.66Ghz (5.22Ghz total) and Geforce 8800GT, 512Mb
