@CeasdRedemption Just playing Devil's Advocate here... So, why not maybe open the Beta up to a massive amount more folks on the 15th and load-test the servers. Then, spend your "two weeks (or more)" stabilizing it prior to release? Not bashing your comment, just genuinely curious.

@sortajan @Shanks_D_Chop @armydominican69 C'mon sortajan... You know as well as I do that he's not simply "desperate for a reason to attack Blizzard". Dude's just disappointed, as a lot of us are, and he's voicing his opinion... Much the same way that you're voicing yours -- in defending them, while at the same time bashing them for something else (which, to be honest, is a little confusing). Regardless, not the point... The bottom line is: We're all a little frustrated with the game and/or Blizzard right now. I got rubber-banded last night, too... Down from level 10 to 8... Lost a good 1.5 hours of leveling, quest completion and loot gathering. While the levels/loot can be "re-gotten", the worst part for me is having to go back and do the same stuff all over again. It brings down the game IMHO... Makes it monotonous and a little boring.Admittedly I am TRYING to be patient, and understand that these are just "launch woes" for a massive game. But, that doesn't really help that much.... C'MON BLIZZARD!

I respect the author's opinion but it's blatantly obvious that this article was written a little " tongue-in-cheek". What I DON'T get is the comments in here from some folks: "Dude, you're a non-gamer if you don't play MY WAY". C'mon, man... that's just your opinion! You like hardcore where there's a risk? Good for you. He likes to play casually? Good for him. Nobody is wrong -- or less of a person -- for liking to game a specific way. Guess what, folks? We're all entitled to our opinion! When did people become suck d!cks? I guess it's just another case of "Everybody's a bad-ass behind the anonymity of the internet".Crap man, I'm getting too old for this. I gotta quit reading video game forums... All they ever do is raise my blood pressure and put me in a bad mood.

@i-like-me I'm actually gonna contradict my previous post a little here... There actually is some specificity defined. Quoting from the article (and from my older post): "When an IP holder, like Electronic Arts, has reason to believe that a site is distributing pirated copies of its software, it has a process that it can expedite to eliminate the threat to its business" Just asking -- no bash/bitterness/negativity intended, whatsoever -- Where in your scenario do "pirated copies" of software come in to play? Maybe a little hypocritical on my part, (and I'm just adding vagueness/assumptions of my own), but shouldn't we hope that the "process" that the above quoted statement mentions would block EA from enacting your scenario, because it doesn't actually involve "pirated software"?

@i-like-me Excellent point, and exactly what I was getting at, saying how "vague" the whole thing is. If that IS how it's gonna work, you're 100% right... it's wrong, plain and simple. However, you're assuming that that's the way it'll be. None of us have any idea, specifically (and finally) how it will all come together. And, like I said, it probably DOES need to be tweaked -- specifically for scenarios like the one you bring up. I guess I'm a little too focused on the bottom-line of the whole thing... Jobs and (intellectual) property... Let's say you bust your ass painting a picture that people love and want to own, but rather than paying for your hard work, some jacka$$ steals it, makes millions of color copies and gives it to everybody. You're out both your property AND your cash flow... If I can't read a review or post a video on Youtube so that you get keep your painting, I'm sorry, I'm in...

Gotta admit, I'm still on the fence a little with all of this, but, c'mon folks... The descriptions of the "bads" this will do are so vague -- There a lot of "maybes" and "mights" in regards to what can and/or will happen to sites like Wikipedia, Youtube, et. al. if this passes: "When an IP holder, like Electronic Arts, has reason to believe that a site is distributing pirated copies of its software, it has a process that it can expedite to eliminate the threat to its business" The operative words here are "reason to believe", and "it CAN expedite". It doesn't flat-out say that Wikipedia and Youtube will be automatically blocked. Look, if it does actually come to a point that viable, Non-"dude-in-his-basement-in-China-bit-torrenting-content-pirate-type" sites are being systematically censored/blocked, then yeah... there IS a genuine concern. And, maybe the legislation does need to be tightened up a little to prevent all-out censorship, if that truly IS the case... BUT, if it IS protecting software development jobs (and just jobs in general), I'm in... I mean are we REALLY that concerned about losing the ability to post a game play video on Youtube? Priorities, folks...

@Lpedraja2002 "...we have enough shooters." AGREED! Also, agree with you on the need for the consoles to have an "accessible" keyboard/mouse option (I guess the PS3 has something, but it's not the same). Where I tend to disagree -- just a little -- is your point about a console "catching up hardware-wise" to the PC. While conceivably, the next-gen consoles ("Xbox 720" and "PS4" or whatever they'll be called) could be released with hardware equivalent to a good PC rig, it would just be too expensive for the consumer (Hell, my Alienware rig just set me back \$2200). Sony took it in the teeth at first and were losing a lot of money because they had to drop the price on the PS3 to meet consumer demand (Microsoft did, too... just not on as grand a scheme). Don't know too many "casual gamers" (or mommies and daddies) williing to drop $1,000 on a video game system -- especially in this economy. Also, there's the the fact that PC hardware will continue to improve, while even a new next-gen console will stagnate because it can't be upgraded... And we'll be right where we are now. Hey... could be completely wishful thinking on my part. I'm a PC Gamer at heart.

@Truelori You are correct, we are allowed our opinions, and a "forum" to post them. I respect yours and appreciate you for respecting mine. And, don't get me wrong... there ARE flaws in this game (and I've pointed out the ones I'm concerned with in previous posts). I'm also 100% in agreement with a few of your "dumbing down" points. I've been saying this for a few years now... I really feel that the consoles are to blame, and they're killing the gaming industry. However, I'm resigned to the fact that there's unfortunately nothing I can do about it. So, I've been trying to find the good and let it outweigh the bad (some of which texasgoldrush brought up, in regards to this game)... Otherwise, I'm just gonna get more cynical than I already am! Although it's dumbed-down in your opinion, did you get any enjoyment out of it at all?

@Truelori Points taken, and definitely understood (Dunno that I'd stick by that "Do as I please" mindset anywhere other than in a gaming forum, but that's up to you... LOL) I guess, however, my sticking point with a lot of the griping and negative criticism (and not solely from you) boils down to a really simple point... "Don't like it, don't play it". You know, just like dealing with those folks trying to get various shows taken off of TV/Radio... "Don't like it, turn the channel!"). But, "Hey" you say, "I spent my hard earned $60 on a let-down". Well, contrary to popular belief, you CAN get your $$$ back, if that's your concern. Just put together a well-worded e-mail to BioWare explaining your displeasure (I've heard that veiled threats to never buy an EA/BioWare product and/or threatening to tell all of your friends and family what a crap product they sell, helps a bit, too). I've had friends do this successfully. Anyway, here's to hoping that you find a more enjoyable game in the future, that you'll post good points about and inspire others to buy it (but, that's doubtful, 'cause we all know how much "FUN" it is to complain, instead of praise!) Yeah, I know... I went WAY OFF on a tangent here, but it was fun!

@truelori While I'm sure texasgoldrush can speak his/her own mind, s/he (sorry, didn't want to just assume gender) has completely valid points and is addressing arguments YOU brought up in the first place! (now who's being the hypocrite?) Oh, and quit "thumbs upping" your own posts! LOL
