Holy <bleep>... PLEASE talk to us, not at us! These video reviews... sheesh! I could only get through about a third of this one... Gentlemen (and ladies) performing the reviews, we admire your BA's in English Lit with a minor in Journalism from Southern Illinois Techno-Poly University (or wherever), but you've gotta know that there's a MONSTER difference between the written word and the spoken word. PLEASE just talk to us about the game... Drop the overly-flowery adjectives and over-used metaphor (save that for the written version, if you must). I get that you're trying to paint a picture, but all of this -- combined with the stiffness in which it's presented -- is just off-putting (Sorry Tom, I DO enjoy your written reviews). I'm definitely not saying you have to dumb it down... Just tell us about the game and it's ins and outs. Talk to us the way that you would with a buddy about the game -- The way that I'm sure you do with each other at the GameSpot offices. I'm willing to bet the words "melancholy", "whimsical" and "foliage" never once passed your lips when you were explaining this game to your peers at Gamespot.

To this game... It looks beautiful, and different from the mass-produced stuff that the gaming companies continue to churn out. I'm looking forward to giving it a try... So, I'm relying on the review to give me the nudge I need to drop the cash and buy it. But, when you can't even make it through the review...

I'm sure I'll get bashed for this, I just want to hear an opinion on a game from the eyes and mouth of an average Joe (Keep the caveman, "Game good. Pretty colors!" comments to yourself).

@ignis_sulphur @johnritter4141 Got no other place to turn? Bag on somebody's spelling and use of grammar! Gotta give ya credit, though... You went with a classic! Oh, and not to nit-pick, but if you want to be correct, your post should read as:

"You could spend your pathetic life learning how to use the auto-correct function in your browser."

Moral to this story: If you're gonna pick on someone, based on an intellectual flaw/mistake, at least be correct in your argument.

Now, go away troll... just go away.

@produner Absolute driver-update nightmare. Speculation on my part, but I gotta figure with all the time and effort that Sony/MS/third-party hardware manufacturers will have to put in to developing compatible drivers for every hardware combination available, the price of games and hardware will skyrocket.

Might as well just buy a PC. Come on... Come over to the dark side with the rest of us. PC gaming is still better! Muahahahahahahaha! (It actually is)

@atn98 I agree with you 100% (on both points!) To start, how about RPG categories similar to the following:

- RPG (Traditional)

- RPG (Action)

- RPG (MMO)

- RPG (FPS-Style)

To the over-saturation of shooters... I've been of the same mindset for the past 7-10 years (and I've preached about it -- admittedly, almost to the point of whining -- on these forums over that span), Problem is, they offer instant gratification, and that seems to be what the impatient masses want, so the game houses continue to churn them out. The majority of younger gamers are cutting their teeth on the shooter... It's what they know, and what they like. Those of us that have been gaming for a longer time (since the Atari 2600 for me, in the late 70's)... We're more open to a broader range of titles (RPG's for one). Regardless, until such time that the masses are completely tired of the "run, duck, shoot, 'rinse and repeat'" concept, we're gonna be stuck with 'em.

@psx_warrior @IanNottinghamX psx_warrior... I understand your point. What I said wasn't so much a dig at a specific franchise, as much as it was directed at the over-saturation of FPS's in general. I'm not trying to steer this conversation off course, but I feel that a lot of the issue with failing publishers and development houses is that all we seem to be getting each year is the same package, just in a different wrapper: "New for the Holidays 2012, it's 'Shoot 'em. Kill 'em XVIII'... Now with shinier bullets!" While I DEFINITELY don't have the answers, it'd be refreshing to see some innovation in the "big name" gaming market.

@Diablo-B @King9999

You're both right... When do you HONESTLY think the CEO of Toys R Us built something out of Legos or shot somebody with a Nerf dart gun? Or, the CEO of Taco Bell had a "Burrito Supreme" (they're horrible, by the way). Still... I get what Diablo-B is saying, and I fully agree. If you ain't in to what you're selling, you shouldn't be the guy leading the company! CEOs and all of the other "higher-ups" base their knowledge, 110% on market research... It'd be refreshing to see a big-wig at EA that ACTUALLY liked Dragon Age II, and could give us valid reasons why it was what it was.

@shingui5 Another one, too... As a gamer from as early as 1980, I'm bummed to admit it, but, this will DEFINITELY spell the death of Atari. C'mon... can't we just crank out ONE MORE "Asteroids" rip-off?!

@PlatinumPaladin You're right, but I think the up-coming new consoles are actually WHY a lot of these publishers will go by the way side (they're not going to be their savior) . It's just a matter of these publishers being too invested/committed to delivering the status quo of content for existing consoles... A BIG rock in an increasing pile of mud is harder to move... Bottom line: Change, while inevitable, can eat ya alive if you're not ready for it.
