@restatbonfire: Well dude, CLEARLY you aren't allowed to have any opinion on something unless you've personally experienced it firsthand. Makes me wonder how some of these people make it through life with their reasoning. Ever been in a car accident? No!?! Well, give it a shot, you won't know you don't like it until you've tried it! Hey, some people like pain, you won't know until you try it.
@xZedZdeDx: I never understand this line of reasoning. Am I supposed to just watch everything that ever comes out? I don't eat cheese. Full stop. I don't need to try the hundreds of varieties out there to know I won't like any particular one. But I don't just judge people who do like it. I also don't ask asinine questions like: "How do you know you like cheese? You've only tried like 5 kinds, hardly a strong sampling of cheeses available."
Maybe the guy just doesn't like some of the actors, maybe he's not a fan of supernatural comedies. Who are you to judge why he doesn't like it? Maybe he doesn't like it because it rained the day it premiered when he was a kid and so his parents wouldn't let him go see it and he's held personal resentment towards the franchise ever since. Would that be a silly reason? Of course, he should be mad at the weather. Regardless, he's allowed to dislike it for any reason he wants, even ones that don't make sense to you.
Wasn't the Oldest House originally some sort of Tree, and it's nature changed to blend in with the rise of humanity. Maybe that's related to the Cult of the Tree, they simply remember it's original (and probably in their mind correct) form.
I like when he complained about MC taking The Weapons "agency" away. As if parents don't do that every single day with their kids. When they misbehave, they get grounded/punished, and lose some of their agency. Not to mention, her name is "The Weapon" it definitely stands to reason you might restrict some of her more naive actions until she's a bit wiser. Just like children. And, like in real life, you don't always have the luxury of taking the time to explain, in detail, why you had to do it. I'd imagine MC was pretty rushed for time and had to just act. As the reviewer even says, he explains why he had to do it later, he's not just some heartless tyrant
This is a world where there are clear differences between races. Didn't the humans enslave the Orcs within living memory of both species? There are humans living in WoW who had orc slaves. There have been at least 4 wars that were, somewhat, based upon races. Of course they have insulting terms for each other (although, since they are literally green skinned I'm not even sure if it's an actual insult). It's less real removing them (I don't really care, I never even noticed it really, it just seems heavy handed to me on Blizzard's part). Are there any references to Elves ears, or gnome/goblin height? I don't see how they're any different really. Once you start going down this slope, where do you stop? It's not ok to call orcs greenskins for racial sensitivity reasons, but it's ok to call gnomes midgets or small fries or whatever? How do you think that makes little people feel?
Wait... so they aren't going to randomly end a clear money making franchise because of a movie name? They're going to continue to rake in money in the future rather than just retire the Halloween series? I'm shocked, shocked I tell you! Well... not that shocked. Thank god for this breaking news.
Jesus, EA wants to sell us clips of real life games AND they also want exclusive rights to NFTs for Fifa? Basically, they found out a bunch of new ways to possibly make money, BUT they don't want to give any of that increased inflow to Fifa? Oh well, Fifa is a greedy whore too, but it is amusing watching them try to outgreed the other.
