all those set ups are terrible. I'm playin on a 51" HDTV with 5.1 surround sound hooked up with fiber optic cables and HDMI.  i dont know what could be better

BroweChisox

same here, only my tv's a 57".  I've got the HDMI audio going to the tv, then the tv audio out it isa fiber optic running up to a Yamaha HTR-5940.  then out to my horse manure speakers for now, but im slowly but surely upgrading the 6.1 system to  klipsch.

You really should upgrade your receiver as it is fairly low end. Yamaha makes some good options that support uncompressed PCM through HDMI instead of being stuck with compressed audio like you are now.

i realize it's fairly low end but i dont wanna pay $1000 for a receiver.  I'm happy with what i got.  :)

what i got, plus the sub, plus 3 other speakers behind me.  I had to take the backing off the entertainment center on the left side, where the ps3 and receiver are so it doesnt get too hot.  i've got some new backers in the garage to allow for the heat i just have to put them on.

is that $1200 for each ps3 you find?  because i can tell you right now how every one of us could make a million dollars in 5 minutes....  best buy still has 5 ft. by 6ft mountains in 5 different spots in their store.

i dont think i ever oned a ps1.  my friends had one so i never needed one.  i'm not sure when the ps2 came out, but i didnt get one of those until probably 3 years ago.  I got it probably a month before the slimline systems came out, when they were $150.  Now I got my PS3 as soon as they started showing up everywhere.  But I'm the only person I know of that has one right now.  All my friends with ps2's won't upgrade until the price comes down.

it wont work as of yet.  but, it's supposed to work after a software update eventually.  i was told that by a sony guy on the techline.  they arent sure when, but it should be "soon" is what he said.
