It's an extremely average game that offers not much new from the last 3 of them. That is why this review was actually kind. Recycled game play and graphics. Similar glitches and bugs. This game is fantastic if you don't expect much of a game or don't really care that the actual gaming potential of a spider-man game is HUGE compared to all 3 of the last games combined. The Batman Arkham games have more than proven that in what is possible with games with super heroes today. But this is just another rushed movie tie-in cash grab game from activision that only tries to be "good enough" to make some sales and that is it. They succeeded on that end. Is this game worth $60? NO. Absolutely not. Even if you are a Spidey fan like me. I expect and want more from a Spider-man game today because I know it is possible if the right game developer really got a chance to make one. So if you are okay with "settling" for whatever crap the game makers throw out with the name Spider-man on it, then by all means go grab it! But me, I know Spider-man deserves better than this quality of game and that it is more than possible to make one which is why year after year of average games like this are frustrating and insulting to real gamers that are also Spider-man fans. Sounds like the actual movie this thing was tied to isn't very great either- shocker.
not even going to watch it. I want more options as a gamer not less. so no, going one way or the other is not a move in the right direction. Some games I wouldn't mind just having access to but others, I want to be able to completely own digitally. Again the whole online thing depends on one key factor- universal, affordable access to broadband internet everywhere. We are no where near that yet thanks to companies like comcast and verizon being greedy monster monopolies. Until this fact changes, online streaming and always online options are going to be "options" only. As usual, people that are doing okay financially have a tough time understanding what a large number of people struggling with poverty right now are going through as it is not in front of their faces or something they deal with so it may as well not exist. But it does exist. Now so more than ever. In a better financially fair and balanced world with broadband access available to all, this could change, but we are far from that world right now. This world presently is a world of the haves and have nots and it sucks, but that has to change first before the whole ONLINE Only all the time options ever get accepted mainstream. No pun intended.
This once again proves that had Nintendo with all of it's exclusive great games, kept up with the console hardware race they would likely be on top of Sony and Microsoft right now. Gamers would get a Nintendo system to play all the great exclusive classics to Nintendo and they would still get all the good multiplatformers in all their graphical glory. If they had kept up, they would even have attracted more major developers for additional exclusive games by now. I like that Nintendo has done it's own thing, I just think they could have done the same thing and still kept up on hardware specs- over the generations, they likely would have regained the top spot - but hindsight's 20-20.
How does this guy have a job like this? Really?! Is that all it takes to work at gamespot- be "the jerk who hates all the things you love and loves all the things you hate." ? lol.. wow. makes zero sense of course. Why? maybe he sold his soul for this job as I can't see how this guy is worth a paycheck doing what is essentially a lot of bs. Ignore mode- ON.
@Zeronz112 Wow just wow lol. They listened! and were smart about it, not waiting for bad sales numbers to force the issue! Voices of many do get listened to! I never expected this so quickly as it seemed they were locked into a stubborn fit. I really wonder if the Military's stance may have pushed the issue over the edge for MS. Wonder if we'll ever know. But Congrats X-Box One enthusiasts! There is hope for this new console after all! Don, if you are reading any of these. Thank you for listening. It's pretty cool.
