Supply and, overall demand is what determines sales. Xbox this gen is a more attractive brand to buy into.

I agree that Xbox is the better console to this point. But I 100% disagree with your stance of how demand is playing out so far this generation.

Go to any Target, Best Buy, Walmart etc. There are Xbox Series S consoles on the shelves. In some cases there are hundreds. The Series X has been available for weeks at a time on Best Buy and Walmart websites. You can order a Series X RIGHT NOW on Best Buy.com. Then look at the resale sites. They are selling for just over MSRP. Now try to find a PS5 anywhere. When they become available online, they are gone within a minute. Resale is still averaging in the $800’s. The demand for the PS5 is MUCH higher.

These sales breakdowns are playing out the way they are because Xbox has done a much better job with supply. But you can’t say there’s more demand for the console. There’s zero indication of that.

Consoles being on store shelves should be normal when we're coming up on 2 years into a console generation.. so technically, it's not that the demand for the Series S is low because no one wants one, it's just that the supply is actually able to meet demand.. And if you can easily find a Series X "right now", as you seem to be indicating, the same applies there..

And that I believe, as I said, is because the Series S is just much cheaper and easier to produce than either the Series X or PS5.

Yeah it's because Nintendo actuall yknows how to produce replayable single player games. Unlike Sony and MS.

Lems, make up your minds. Do you care about console sales or not?

I only care when it's to rub it in fanboys' faces.

@mowgly1: it must still grind your gears to this day that the xbox 360 outsold the ps3.

PS3 with year later release and 10 mil. behind X360 at start still managed to catch up X360 and even outsold it in the end. That's PATHETIC for Xbox.

The 360 outsold the PS3.

In your world, sure.

So we gonna pretend that the 360 didn't decimate the PS3 until the last 2 years of Gen 7?

Maybe where you are, but where I am, I can't find a single Xbox or PS on the shelves at any local Walmart or Best Buy. I had to buy mine online.

So you may be right. I just personally haven't seen it. I do agree that sales this gen boils down to who can send more systems to the store shelves. As I said, supply is a big part of it. And the Series S is just far cheaper and easier to produce than both the Series X and PS5.

Weird, as Japan is the home town for PlayStation.

And the US is the hometown for Xbox. And?

Good one 🤡

Seeing as how the PS4 outsold the Xbox One in the US last gen, my point I was trying to make is valid. Supply and, overall demand is what determines sales. Xbox this gen is a more attractive brand to buy into.

MS should feel awful tricking people into buying Series S. But, that would require a conscience

*Sony* should feel awful tricking people into buying the *ps5* (fixed it for you ;))
