Elden Ring loses well over 90% of its player base.

Seems gamers are growing tired of Elden Ring by now. Not sure what theyre gonna play next, im assuming its back to gaming on Switch since Nintendo is the only company releasing games right now. The drought has been pretty bad from the other big companies. But im still surprised so many have givin up on Elden Ring. A terribly low percentage have beating some of the ending boses of the game. So it was appear they have just giving up on it.

Elden Ring months ago had almost 1 million players playing on Steam. But now its sitting at around 67k. What about you SW? Did you too give up on Elden RIng?

@blaznwiipspman1: Sony is trying to force gamers to buy it by giving it an offical bundle. What a sad company.

Given up? People aren't consistently playing the same single player game for months on end.

I absolutely loved the game myself. Played through it three times and got all the achievements for it. Just waiting for the dlc to come out before I start up a fourth playthrough.

@Nonstop-Madness: But the percent who beat the game is super low. Hence I stated some have simply given up on it.

Better for these types of games when the casuals leave. The serious players make the experience.

Well its a single player game, and 3 months sense release? Kind of makes sense that things are dropping off.

Anyone heard of a little game called Horizon FW? no? didn't think so.

Its not an mmo. Why would it keep its massive week one playerbase? Over 70k players on steam alone right at this moment is massive, and its the playstation that has the most amount of players guaranteed. All there is to know is that this game has crushed BOTW, and way more people are still playing ER than BOTW months after launch. And because of pvp and upcoming REAL dlc's (not the shitty trash BOTW got lmao), you can bet your ass the playerbase will be very healthy for a long time.

The fact that the game lasted this long is spectacular. It is a single player game, not a multiplayer.

Its a single player game so basically once you beat it, there is no content.
Also japanese jank, probably burned a good amount of people.

Who was playing it for a whole year? Do you have any proof of that? BOTW is a tiny, repetitive wasteland of a game compared to ER. Its very easy to get bored of it. Nobody had the strength to play it for over a month unless you're a speed runner on twitch or youtube.

Over 70k on steam. Probably a good 50k on xbox and at least 100k on playstation. Dead game btw and that's three months in🤡

Hmm… I wonder why Elden Ring lost so many players. Surely the over-the-top painfully high difficulty had nothing to with it right? I’m sure people don’t give up on super-difficult games that make them want to tear their eyeballs out with the hatred of a thousand burning suns.

@hardwenzen: I don't need proof of it, Belden ring is 96% mc, which is 1% lower than botw at 97%. Owned. And to this day, people still play botw. Even the Belden ring creator said he took massive inspiration from botw, let that sink in.

It's funny you talk about repetitive when Belden ring is the most repetitive game out there, with large but empty maps, no horse at the start, no fast travel, recycled boss assets and other recycled assets. Not to mention how easy the game is with accessibility features (which is a good thing), and also so many bugs. I heard of people who's saves corrupted after hundreds of hours of game time. If it were me, I would have raged and snapped the Belden ring disc in half.

Now the number of players have tanked off a cliff, even twitch streaming is at record low. Just admit it, and move on.

Still on this crap?

Elden Ring is far more competently made than any wRPG. Western ARPGs still cant get combat right barring Mount and Blade and that game isnt even western xD.

Hell, Western RPGs can't even get combat right with the excpetion of the above mentioned game, alongside Jagged Alliance and Divinity: Original Sin.

With jank i mean shit performance. The game was riddled by it. Those *** devs have no clue how to optimize there games for shit.

Is it "giving up" when you've played a hundred or so hours on a finite game?

lol c'mon, they haven't given up...they've finished.

Compare that to how long other SP games' playerbase lasted, and I bet ER got some records down.

And I don't think many bothers with the game's PVP, as it's terrible.

Started Horizon Forbidden West right after getting 100% in Elden Ring and open world games no longer feel the same to me. Elden Ring did a perfect job on how it does not hold your hand or has a bloated map with a billion quest markers/pointless collectables.

Played it and loved it. Spent 100 hrs on a single run. Im taking a break from gaming as i might not be able to play another game as good as this. Though the end part seems tedious and repetitive.

Fun fact: Zelda: BOTW has lost 99.99% of its playerbase since launch!

Did people think people were going to play Elden Ring every day until the end of days?

Any whoo, I'm about 250 hours in, still on NG+, hunting for platinum.

ah that first 0-50 hours of the first playthrough was magical. getting up early to play before work. staying up late. utterly immersed. one holy shit moment after another. extraordinarily good times. haven't finished my second playthrough, parked it for a while, but i'll be back.

@mesome713: There's still 81k people playing it - and that is just on Steam. The game is a smash hit, it sold over 10 million copies.

Still, the cows like @hardwenzen said that this proved the game had no legs when the same percentage drop happened for Halo Infinite...

Are you serious even comparing ER to Infinite? ER is the most content packed game we've had in ages while Infinite launched with no content and half a year later nothing has improved. No wonder everyone left that game in no time lol they see no future in it. But that's what happens when they offer you their flagship title as a f2p game lol it became shovelware.

It's a massive game and it's been been 3 months since release. Makes sense that people would have moved on to other games.
