@spartanro: I don't think items could save this game. Even with all the maps it's still not as near in depth or interesting to play with the bigger mobas with a single map to play on. I personally feel like this game just gets way too old too fast.
@25kim25: It will probably still be around for a bit, but literally everyone I talked to in person has tried the game and said they didn't like it and felt it was lacking one way or another. I'm sure the people who prefer a more simplicity moba and blizzard fans will keep this game around for maybe a while but even with the esports push I don't ever see this as being big as dota 2/league of legends.
Wow. I don't think Moba's exploded in popularity yet when SC 2 came out, at least not to this extent today. Now Riot games completely dominates the pc gaming market playerbase and the Heroes of Newarth developers...........makes this game called Strife.
I'm sure it will be, but most gamers have moved on from WoW and will never look back, unless they make a sequel. With that being said, They still have more active playing subscribers than other MMO games would die for. I remember the ff 14 developers bragging about 4 million registered players, when they never once mentioned how many active subs they had (probably well less than 1 million)
the core diablo team is probably hard at work making a f2p diablo game that will have serious esport potential. Blizzard has tournaments for everything they do except diablo atm.
Blizzard made a HUGE deal out of this game at blizzcon, but I think it will be niche or close to dead/not mattering in a year or 2. It's a fun game, but I've seen so many people go back to playing lol or dota 2 (or stop playing) shortly after trying it out. It's not as near popular as blizzard wants it to be, but here's hoping overwatch becomes the next big thing in esports.
