I remember when I was a kid, I used a Ouija Board in a grave yard one Halloween night with my friends. Nothing really happened that night.

Christ-Believers vs Atheists: if God isn't real, then what created blah blah blah- Look up entropy and energy distribution throughout the universe!

Atheists vs Christ-Believers: If God exists, then why does blah blah blah - Because humans are ignorant dummies, and since the dawn of our intelligence we have been killing ourselves.

Be quiet, both of you. God, quit typing, take a break. If you want to debate the existence of God, use real evidence, for both sides, not some stupid karma and/or cause and effect.

...I don't think that the Christians have any real evidence :|; therein lies the problem.

Well – I have experiences in my life that (for me) is evidence for the existence of God. This of course would not be evidence (proof) for you that God exists. I never used to think this way though. I spent 20 years being an Agnostic believing the exact same thing you just mentioned – there is no proof. I decided, after long and careful though, to get baptized and become a Christian. I have been a Christian now for about 20 years and whether you believe in God or not or evidence that there is a God or not – one thing is certain. I have never once regretted my decision.

Since TC is a Christian seeing the world as a work of God comes natural, it's easy to see Him in trees, birds, the wind - everything. So from his pov it is understandable that he would ask such a question. But atheists and agnostics - I'm curious how many people who don't believe in God feel like they "chose" not to believe? I'm pretty sure most atheists and agnostics couldn't believe if they wanted to unless they were presented with a good reason, for TC nature is reason enough but this doesn't work many of us.Meinhard1

I can see what you're saying. I used to be Agnostic and have been given many reasons to believe since then. I have been a Christian now for 20 years. I chose to believe in God due to the many different experiences I have had in my life, which for me, is proof that God exists. However, this isn't something I can pull out of my back pocket and prove to anyone else.

I'm very religious and don't mind criticism. It's fun discussing religion with people I know who are Atheist or Agnostic. We have good discussions. I do prefer to discuss religion in person though instead of on a message board.

[QUOTE="Atheists_Pwn"] Unfortunately since common sense would have to be common, it doesnt seem that kind of sense really prevents the massive amounts of botnets taking over computers all over the world. I didnt make any incorrect statements ;) common sense wont help you keep your computer clean. Maybe it will give you a false sense of security, but most intelligent malware makers want that anyway.Atheists_Pwn

You may want to go back and re-read what I wrote. Nothing is going to be 100% effective. Having common sense does indeed help which is where you are incorrect. Another form of common sense is being careful which sites you visit. I'm all too much aware how many ways a hacker has access to a computer. We are only discussing the issue relating to common sense, in which you are way off the mark. When speaking of common sense, I am referring to "sound practical judgment". As far this being 'common' is another issue.

How would one judge what practical means without being informed first? In order to have any legitimate understanding of your own computers security you should have a basic understanding of how networks(and the services ran on it) operate and some basic understanding of coding. Theres a reason network security guys get paid big bucks for this stuff, and they dont always come through. So when people say common sense/AVG is all it takes i lol. Everyday users are attacked frequently for the purpose of identity theft and its fairly easy.

Once again you are lacking in comprehension skills. I never said common sense is all is takes. Why then do you feel the need to bring up something, which is irrelevant to what I am even saying? I made over 50K per year when I worked at NSA which was about 15 years ago, so you are correct, we do get paid well. However, what does that have anything to do with what we are discussing? You are merely grasping at straws now for something else to say and failing miserably.

[QUOTE="Atheists_Pwn"] if you think computer security is that simple and what you say is true I really fear for the governments security... Needless to say i dont believe you. But you never know. That one kid from the UK said the pentagon didnt even use passwords =XAtheists_Pwn

I never said computer security was simple. It seems, not only you make incorrect statements; you have trouble comprehending a simple message.

[QUOTE="Atheists_Pwn"] Yes it was serious. Yes, thats good that you delete random emails. Theres literally thousands of different security holes that you probably never thought of though, so unfortunately common sense wont do it. However, if you get the chance to take some college courses on the subject it will definitely help you understand the field. man in the middle attacks for example, require very little effort. Someone just needs to be on your network and youre screwed. Common sense wont help, rather uncommon/informed sense will.Atheists_Pwn

I used to be the lead System Administrator for the Terrorist Monitoring group at NSA. Sure you want to rethink your statement or do you get a kick out of making blanket statements about people you have never met before? I can assure you I am well aware of many topics in the area of computer security.

I gave one simple example where common sense would help which proved you statement false.

if you think computer security is that simple and what you say is true I really fear for the governments security... Needless to say i dont believe you. But you never know. That one kid from the UK said the pentagon didnt even use passwords =X
