Way back when, I played D2 extensively (2001 not the remake) and this was the reason I didn't touch HC. It doesn't matter how talented or supported you are, I could never shake the feeling that at any time, a hard connection drop or lag spike could just do you in and that would be that. Obviously, there are those that go into this knowing the risk, but having no parachute whatsoever if something that was completely beyond your control was to happen just isn't for me. My heart goes out to Carn, but I'm 100% not surprised this happened.

What I think is most galling about it is that this is Blizzard. A game developer worth several billion dollars. And to this day, they are still having problems like this. 3 sequels in. Embarrassing.

I walked away from OW a while ago. Then they announced OW2 and I thought "Hey, maybe they'll fix some things and make it better." My friends still play occasionally. I asked one of them how it was playing and he said "Meh," in so many words. After seeing the reviews and realizing what this game is now, all I'm left with is a heavy sigh. Replace everything here with FTP mechanics. Then don't release the part that people were excited for to begin with. I genuinely feel sorry for the people who decided to give this game a chance while patiently awaiting an exciting new mode that just doesn't exist anymore. And now that they are going to stick with 5 vs. 5 seemingly to accommodate for this mode, it has to feel even worse. I'm sure I'm not the majority of players that are still into it, but given Blizzard and Activision's future, I'm disappointingly not surprised at their decisions. It feels like the magic is gone. That said, I feel like this genre has some potential if the developers in general don't all turn their games into this business model and dilute the experience.

So obviously this will get a sequel. I didn't think the movie was terrible. I didn't have a huge problem with the voice acting. The plot was a little scattershot. My biggest gripe was that they could have pulled more accurately from the source material. No spoilers, but it felt like a massive missed opportunity with the rich locations from the games largely ignored. And possibly the biggest crime was a complete lack of Funky Kong when he could have been utilized. For shame. Peach was a stand out player so I can't be that mad after all.

Probably one of the few 1st person shooter series that I've loved in the past. Outstanding campaign with a perfectly fun multiplayer experience.

Stop. Making. Pokemon. Games.

It's plain and simple. If I made an Uncharted 6 on PC I would justifiably be shut down in 10 minutes. Why? Because I'm hijacking a series that people value and claiming it as my own. It's a simple rule. Don't copy peoples' IP's and you won't get shut down. If they called it literally anything else, it might have seen the light of day. As it stands, Nintendo, of all companies, will do whatever it takes to retain and maintain their rights on their properties. Because they stand to lose value in their property if a fan game gets made and distributed. And you can say "Well, they aren't trying to make money off it, why does it matter?" The bottom line is they are not going to allow anything to jeopardize their IP and devalue it on any level.

The thing that makes me the most angry is that people pretend that this rule somehow doesn't apply to video games. If I made a series of cars and called them Ford vehicles, I might as well walk straight to jail or burn the cars on the lot. Why? Because I'm stealing a name brand of a company that established themselves a century ago, and I have zero right to attempt to profit, gain, or even give the vehicle away because it's not mine in the first place.

Grow up. There is a very concrete and real reason why Nintendo is doing this and if people don't like it, they need to make their own damn games and stop leeching off the success of another series.

I want this to succeed. I really do.

Do I see it succeeding? After supporting Nintendo for 20+ years the best answer I can muster is "possibly."
