This game clearly wasn't meant to push the Wii u hardware, and as such i think the budget is small as well..

Nintendo are playing it safe (budget wise), as they have a strong feeling this won't sell much regardless if it had awesome graphics)

@FBohler: because a powerful console doesn't guarantee success and 3rd party still won't flock to it because of the 3, some say Nintendo business model is the worse, if you can't stand on you own feet, or ain't a 2nd party Nintendo gives you so so support..

Listen the only way 3rd parties is gonna flock to the system is if the other 2 quit and even then i think they'll more likely go pc..

As long as Nintendo systems make a quick and continued profit, and THERE games sell, i don't think they care as much which any more...

The N64 was more powerful and where did that get them, there next system will be more powerful than the ps4 & X1 and where will that get them.... No where near to as many devs supporting the other system..

So in other words Nintendo sing there own tune..

@xcollector: there's not that much a diff in battery life.. what was happening was battery tech was moving snails pace so there was no reason to have really good chargers... as consumer battery didn't go so high in capacity... What then happened is that battery tech still is moving snails pace but consumers now use bigger size battery and the chargers of old wasn't efficient enough to handle the new big sizes and thats why is seemed charging took so long and battery life lasted longer...

So now we are at good unison part where we have a high cap battery and we have much better chargers.. the next step is to bring better battery tech than can hold more, last longer, and not increase in size much over today size..

here's hoping the NX is backwards compatible, seeing as most likely they'll choose a AMD GPU again..

@Silverline62: hell no selling rare was the best thing they did... Rare got too big and lazy (aka not motivated as much as the past).. they kept delaying and missing milestone.. If rare was so good why do you think a few of the founders split off and found another studio, because they know the rare of old wasn't there anymore...

@wexorian: normally when a game offers the currency of said game in micro trans, it's a good indication that the currency in the game will be sparse (eg; completing a quest gives 10 gold reward) and items will cost a lot... Now lets see if these guys follow the norm..

@PsychicKiller82: because generally a game that $60 feels completed and the micro is just bells and whistles if you want them.. a f2p game generally feel short handed as tries it best to shoehorn you into spending and even when you pass $60 in spending the game still feels restricting...

I'm all for dev's to make money as these guys don't work for free, but in general only so few f2p games makes it feel like you dont have to spend EVER... I bet in fable L they'll probably do something to let gold not drop alot from mobs etc, and cost of thing is way high and in today's instant gratification society, the impatient ones will buy the gold and those are the ones they are aiming to catch...

The dev's could have easily charge $20 or $30 for the game and let it survive on its own merits.. if it sold between 250-500k copies @ $30.. that seems like a nice payday (not knowing the dev cost + marketing)...

In the game you mentioned, you don't feel like you need those stuff, or the game is shoehorning you to get those stuff..
