If you want to start getting technical then ALL video games are alternate reality. We pick the game up and live in that given universe and circumstance for the duration of our playing time. And then you could say that so are books and movies. We suspend our disbelief therefore accepting the given situation as "reality" and therefore we laugh, cry, and empathize with characters that don't actually exist, but do in the alternate reality. But hey I just like to philosophize sometimes ha ha. :P
I'll give you a reason why pc gaming isn't dead: modding. Ever heard of a little game called The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. In and of itself, 'nough said. :P
It's pretty much 3rd party support's fault the 3DS isn't doing well. You can't say "Oh we'll make games if more people bought the system" because hell nobody's going to buy the system if you don't make games for it! Make games and people will buy the systems for the games. The problem is that they're lazy and are being a bunch of *insert synonym for cat*.
Okay you know what? The battery life isn't 16 hours like the freakin' DS Lite, but who in their right mind would play a hand held for 16 hours anyway? The purpose of a handheld is to have something to do when you're on the go. Sure it may not last a plane trip to China, but are you GOING to China? The system is pretty dang powerful so you can't expect to have the longest battery life (i.e. powerful laptop notebooks). Sure more battery would be nice, but 3-5 hours while you're out of the house should be enough. If you're playing longer than that, you couldn't possibly be doing anything important. Therefore you could have stayed HOME and had the charger anyway. All right I'm done ha ha ha. :P
